LT TTC - First time IUI

My DH and I have been trying for a baby for the past 3 years.
We are staring our first IUI cycle and would love to hear from anyone about their first time.
I am a little nervous especially about my first injection tonight.

Thanks so much for all your advise ladies, it is greatly appreciated.
DH did our first injection tonight, and I must say it was not that bad at all.
He asked me if I wanted to know when he was going to jab me....at this point I bit my tongue and said nothing....as I was trying not to think about it.
Funny thing is my left foot feels a little numb but don't know if it has anything to do with the injection.
I am trying to keep positive, but also agree with you Salt that this first cycle is a bit of an experiment.
If I have any other questions I thank you in advance for all your advice

    Hiya Nicole s,
So lovey, i am in this boat with you. I have been doing timed intercourse for three cycles now but this is my first month doing IUI. I'm having my second ultrasound tommorow and i'm onto about my eighth injection. He doubled my dose this month so my response has been a lot better. I'm extremely nervous about the procedure itself. I hate pap smears and apparently its very similar. The speculum makes me feel sick. Given that i have had a good response with the drugs i worry that it might be a multiple birth when i'd prefer just one. So I'm very scared. Also i work long days on thursday and Friday so god knows how i'm going to find the time to get it done. This is my first week in a new job so i cant take any time off. This is all such a juggling act. Keen to hear how your journey is going. Considering we are in the same place at the same time i can keep you posted.
All the best for every success.

Hi Pollyanna, how great is it to be going through the same thing with someone else....it's a great comfort to know we are not alone
What is your current dosage, and did you have any side effects?
The clinic said to me yesterday that they don't want more than two follicles and would much prefer one healthy pregnancy... twins would be fun, even though at this stage one little bubba would be my dream.
As for work, do you have an understanding boss who you can explain your situation too.

    Hey babe,
I'm now on 75.Previously it was 37.5. So this is my first month at the higher dose.Havent noticed the side effects other than being very crabby. Doctor said that that was pretty normal though. I noticed after about my 7th injection "lookout". Crabby crabby person. Worse than pmt! So todays ultrasound found 3 follicles but they like them to be bigger than they are now. So i keep going with the gonal f for now.Today is day 8 of injections. I have to go back for another ultrasound at 7.30 on friday morning before work. Hoo thats one long day.Apparently my fs does things a little differently by starting the gonal f on day 6 of the cycle wheras most fs do day 3 . so melb ivf said if this cycle is uneventful(fingers crossed that it is a success),then we would start day 3 next time. I hope you are going well with your injections and are experiencing few if any side effects. Do you know when you have your ultrasound?
