Oh Porsche, that must be so frustrating, how dare he go away right when you need him. Fingers crossed it’s fate and this month will be yours.

Hi girls,
I just wanted to check something with you... I know everyone's different, but I'm still curious...
So, AF arrived this morning (:wall:) and I'm going to book my Sonosalpingography for next week...
I have done the 2 rounds of Clomid that my FS gave me back in March, so I was just wondering for those of you have been on Clomid, and then not been on it, how was your cycle? Was O day around the time of O day on your Clomid cycle?
I'm trying not to think about because last time I was stressing about Oing I didn't until CD35!!!
Porsche, sorry to hear that you got a BFN and that your Dr is away!!
Bec, glad to hear you O'd!! I agree with Porcshe hun... time to get busy!
RhiChiChi, sorry to hear that you're not well and that AF showed up
Hi to everyone else!!
Oh well I guess he is entitled to a life lol. I miss the boat by about 6 days. I just hope that AF is like a week late so I can get in and start lol. Not likely but I'm lucky I rang and didn't start taking the meds and then find out he's not there.
Elocin- I can't help you with your question. I have only ever O'd late after a M/C. And I never took note of my cycles before clomid.
Hi ladies
Quick update...had our 12 week scan today and tests showed everything is fine. Phew! I can breathe a huge sigh of relief. It was amazing seeing our little bub - I hope you all of you can have this same experience very soon. I have my fingers and toes crossed for all of you. x
Hello everyone ,started my period today,so sad and depressing when they happens!!!:) Start my clomid tuesday. More hot flashes and mood swings and everything else that goes with it. All my doctor e-mail and told me was i have a 4% chance everymonth of getting pregant being on clomid, and that it can take longer than 3 months to get pregant somtimes anyone taken that long on clomid to get preg..Im going to see another doctor friday to get a second opinion about my test results. Thanks Linda
Hi Linda
It took me 7 cycles to get pregnant so your Dr is totally right. They usually say that you should get pregnant in 3-4 cycles but everyone is different.
Mez - Yay for the 12 week scan. I'm so glad all is well.
Hey all, hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Porsche - Sorry to hear that AF *may* be on her way & that you have to do another round of Clomid :(
Bec - I hope you caught that egg :) Best of luck
Elocin - I didn't take Clomid this cycle but I believe I still O just from keeping an eye on O Pain and cervical mucus. Whilst I can't be 100% sure without a +OPK, prog test or temp rise I am still confident I did given the symptoms I mentioned above. I definately had EWCM & continued fertile mucus. Try not to stress about Oing (easier said than done) as I have heard that this can cause late O or annovulatory cycles (no O). Do you temp and check you cervial mucus? This would be your best indication without Clomid and the monitoring - GL
Mez - That is such great news! I am so happy for you and hope that we all can join you very soon :)
Linda - Good idea about getting a second opinion. Whilst I believe you Dr is correct in saying that it can take 3 + months (I was told up to 6 months) if you are feeling uneasy & questioning him/her then I think intuition is stepping in. Trust your instincts.
Hi to everyone else. I hope the lurkers are well. x
Porsche- Bugger about BFN, and the doc. Can you see a different doc for IUI since yours is away? At least you know your cycle works without clomid!
Linda- When I was on clomid last time before I had DS, I didn't get pregnant untill the 6th round, as Rhi & Porsche have said. This time I was on a higher dose and I have had 3 unsustained pregnancies from 8 cycles. So everyones body is different and even how we respond differs with time. Sorry AF arrived, but at least you know you are ovulating on your current dose after your Progestorone test.
Elocin- Sorry to hear AF turned up :( Hopefully the sono thingy will give you some answers. To answer your question: On clomid I o around day 21-23 and without it I don't o at all and I take primulot n to induce a period. It probably depends what your cycle used to be like and why you are taking clomid. I never had periods when I wasn't on clomid so the change for me is radical!
Rhi- What day are you on now? Your lap must be in the next week or so, good luck with that. I hope you get some answers.
Mez- that's wonderful news! So glad all is going well. You pregnant girls are like lights at the end of the tunnel for me!
G'day to everyone else. Claudette, where are you? Hope all is okay :)
AFM: I definately o'd yesterday or today, or so 'things' indicate, so hopefully we haven't missed the boat IYKWIM ;) Just waiting for FS to ring (Not sure why I bothered...) to see if I should start the blood thinning injections straight away. I'm so excited that my cycle is the closest to 28 days it's ever been! That extra cycle week has always killed me! Not holding out much hope that this month will work, since the m/c was my last period, but FS said becasue it was early it should have any effects. At least I know the new regime does it's job, the question now it, 'how well?' lol
I'm off the bed, I have the sorest throat. I have this horrible feeling it's the beginning of tonsilitis...
Bec
Hi all
Well AF arrived today. My gut instinct on this cycle was right. Starting on Clomid again tomorrow so just like Linda, here comes the hot flushes, pain, etc etc. The good thing about it is that I have 28 day cycles for the first time in my life. I actually know when I will be getting Af these days. Lots of praying and finger crossing again for this cycle.
Bec: Good luck with catching that egg. Good new's that you O'd though. Is this the first time you have to use blood thinning injections? Sorry about the ignorance. I suffer from thrombosis so I wonder if I should ask my OB about that. How's that bruise going? Hope you aren't getting tonsillitis, that is horrible. Hope you feel better soon.
hi i'm new to this thread.
a short version of my ttc journey. i got diagnosed at 16yrs (2001) with pcos and got told then that i would prob never have kids. my dh and i have been trying since july 09, and are now on my second cycle of provera (as i don't get my af's) and clomid. my fs for this cycle has upped the clomid dosage to 100mg to see if it works and if it doesn't then next cycle we will be doing fsh injections as well.
now that i have finally found the right thread to be on it's time for me to go to bed so i can get some sleep tonight. hopefully i will be able to read more of the threads tomorrow arvo when i get home. by the way i'm now at the 2 week wait stage of this cycle, so will see what happens then to what is next.
Welcome Liz! Sounds like you've had a long journey with your PCOS. I also have PCOS and have a beautiful DS becasue of clomid. Things haven't gone according to plan this time round, and after 8 rounds of clomid (it always worked I just can't sustain a pregnancy) I'm on the FSH injections this round. I'm also entering the 2WW so we can keep each other distracted! I hope the clomid works for you hon!
Hope: Bugger about AF starting, but new round, new chance! Hopefully the SE aren't too bad this time. Yes, this is the first time I've had the blood thinners, and the metformin, all as precautions to hopefully stop a m/c if I fall pregnant again.
AFM: Finally heard from FS who said don't start Clexane injections yet. I don't start them untill I get pregnant (if!) Lucky he rang me back this time I was all ready to take them! So I can give my poor tummy a break from the jabs!
Unfortunately I had a nap and now I'm wide awake and feeling a little better. Hopefully just a cold!
I better try to get some sleep,
Night girls,
Bec
Hello i know its going to cost more money for a second option but well worth it i think to see if the doctors are on the same clomid schedule.I was wondering if anyones doctor told them to have intercousre the da y after you get a + results on your ovulation kit and to have intercourse every other day. Sounds werid but maybe i ovulate later not sure.Sometimes it hard for me to talk to my doctor because i have to go through his nurse but i did get a e-mail saturday from the doctor said its a 4% chance every month to get preg on clomid.Must be true im on my third cycle of clomid.
thanks linda
Hello everyone!
I've been MIA Bec! I'm fine though but just a bit busy these days. Although I've been following everyone's threads on a daily basis. There's a lot going on!
AFM i think im in my 2ww - who knows though. I used an OPK this month - but I had only bought one which lasted 7 days - cheapskate!! And by the time I'd used them all - day 16 - there was no sign of OV! So I've just been guessing! Fed up looking for EWCM!! Has anyone put on loads of weight being on Clomid - or am I just looking for an excuse for kicking back and eating what I like? How come trying to reduce my BMI has actually increased it!
Never mind it's another busy week for me as I have 2 parents nites at school (i'm a teacher) this week so I suppose it'll fly by!
Hopefully all you girlies are staying positive!
Claudette x
Hi Ladies
Bec - I can't use another doctor as apparently there isn't one as i was informed yesterday. Actually when I think about it the receptionist was a bit short with me. I was trying to ring up and find out about my prescriptions and when I need to start taking the meds and she cut me off and I completely lost my train of thought. Yay for Oing and a 28 day cycle. I wish.
Rhichichi - I guess it could be worse. I'll take it purely to keep my cycle regular in prep for IVF. We won't do IUI cycle after next as much as I'd like to give it a shot. DH leaves at the end of July so we won't be able to fit it in before he goes. Oh well hopefully the clomid can help get our BFP again.
Hope- Bugga Af. How dare she arrive unwelcome. At least you can start a fresh cycle. I wish this week would hurry up so I can get back on the band wagon.
Liz- Welcome. I hope your stay is very short (in a good way).
Claudette - I wondered where you got to. I guess you have a life lol. Not like me I stalk this web site. As for the weight gain question when I started clomid I was a very comfortable 60kg but I have put on 5kg. Now the Dr told me it was MY fault for the weight gain lol Clomid doesn't make you gain weight.
Hello everyone!
Bec - I am on CD 4 and the lap is next Tuesday, I don' think I have ever been so excited to be having surgery! I guess I am after some closure as to why I have not fallen pg since my last m/c last year in Feb. I hope I can get some answers! Sorry to hear you are unwell with a sore throat. I gargle Betadine & take horseradish & garlic tablets & that has worked a treat for me but I don't think I get tonsilitis, just colds. Great news that you O & this seems to be a good formula for you - I hope it is successful fx
Hope - I know how exciting it is to know when for sure you will get a period! I think that is one the most grateful things with being on Clomid & the fact I O on it. I certainly hate those side effects but I guess it is a small price to pay for what we want in the end, hey?! It would be nice if things were easier for us though :)
Hi & welcome Liz. You have certainly found a great thread to join. Best of luck during you tww - I hope this is the cycle for you :)
Claudette - Glad to hear you are ok, just busy :) I have anctually lost weight whilst on Clomid but that is b/c I am exercising & following a low GI diet. I haven't heard that Clomid can cause weight gain but everyone is different to their reactions on medication.
Linda - I don't know about the statistics of conceiving on Clomid but for people not on any medication to conceive it is a 25% chance each cycle. I would have thought if anything the chances would be the same if not increased on Clomid?? I might do some investigating and try to find out.
I hope everyone else is ok. We haven't heard from some of you in a while & I hope that you are just taking breaks and will come back & join us soon :)
Hi Ladies,
Just popping in quickly!
Claudette, when I started Clomid, I too was a very comfortable 60kg, I too gained about 5kgs or even a little more. I will still exercising and eating well at the time too. So don’t beat yourself up about it, I don’t think everyone experiences weight gain but I’m almost positive it is a side effect.
GL to everyone else, I’ll pop in again soon!
Xxoo
Weight gain is a listed side effect in the little book that you get in the box. I'm pretty sure anyway. I have actually lost weight since coming off clomid (about 6 weeks now) so I'm assuming that it was that! Although I have started metformin so that might be helping too.
Claudette, glad you're good and all is well! I have a parent night at school this week too (I'm also a teacher) so it must be the time of year for it!
Rhi- I though the lap must be coming up soon, I couldn't remember the exact day. GL!
Best be off to dinner,
Bec
