I just finished reading the beginning of this thread and instantly I knew I wanted to be here!
On theweekend we had a family get together with my DH's side.
Out of no where his brother announces they are pg with #2. Then WHAM just to knock the wind out of us his other brother announces that they are also pg with #2. We barely made it out of there without cracking....but not before being lobbed a couple of "your turn will come" balls. Thanks for that!!!!!!!!! #%**#
The worst of it is that the whole family are fully aware that we have been TTC for 15mths with no medical explanation for it.
Anyway that's my cringe story for this week.
I'm just glad I can share it with others who won't judge me.
Dragonfly
Sorry about the BFN Chris :(
Welcome new posters!
Dragonfly, that had to hurt. I find it even more difficult when people I feel should know better make comments like that. :(
I am just in my 2ww, keeping busy, waiting for xmas eve to get my result. Hoping we have an extra merry xmas this year... 8-)
Love that the smilies all have xmas hats!
Welcome Dragonfly! :flower:
Good to have some new *faces*.
Family and friends can say some really stupid things...I've been surprised by some comments, particularly at the lack of thought behind them. At least here you can express yourself and you know that we get it.
Best of luck!!
Cheers,
Didge
How's it going Kell?
I hope you and your DH get a lovely surprise for Christmas! :crossfingers:
I'll be joining you on the 2ww this Sunday.
Best of luck!
Didge
Hi Bin
don't be to nervous, i know alot of ladies who have been through Dr Bowman and he is apparently extremely nice and very caring.. you are making the right choice by going through with him and SIVF they are just tops.. expensive but i wouldn't go elsewhere...
good luck and remain calm, you will be fine...
love leis
ps hope that cold disappears soon...
xx
Hi Bel - sorry to hear you've been sick. Good luck tomorrow with Mark. Don't be scared about what he'll say. There's so many options available to you still, think of it as a step forward and closer to holding your baby in your arms. Good luck, I'll look out for you tomorrow on msn.
Hi there!
Well, I have my very first OPU tomorrow morning and ET Sunday (if all goes well) and I'm feeling a bit nervous/anxious/excited about it. Any advice or suggestions/experiences?
Thanks.
Didge
Hi didge, lots lof luck with the OPU and ET. :luck:
I haven't had any major problems with either so far. I had a general anaesthetic for my OPU and I always find 'going under' a bit weird but after I woke up and sat for a while I felt fine. Did have some light cramping for a couple of days and took some paracetamol but nothing major. The ET is similar to a pap smear - not pleasant but bearable! After the transfer was done they left me alone for 10 minutes, in the dark, with classical music playing! Not sure how much of a difference that made! :-k
Hope it all goes great for you. :bluestick:
Marg
Thanks Marg,
Which clinic do you go to? I'm with MIVF. Was wondering if they allow you to rest a little after the ET...after all the legs in the air bizzo with ttc, I'd feel a bit ripped off ;)
...and classical music? Wonder if I can take in my ipod..... 8-)
Hi didge, I went through Albury (RMA). They've been fantastic but have run out of donors (that was a shock to hear!). I've now made an appointment with Ballarat IVF for the new year - I'm hoping they'll accept me, otherwise I'll make some enquiries in Melbourne.
I found they were much more strict after the OPU than the ET when it came to resting and recovering - I guess that's coz of the general. And then I didn't want to go to the loo for hours after the ET - just in case!
Actually the iPod sounds like a good idea - I might remember that for next time!
Marg
Hi Girls,
So, my appointment went well. Dr Bowman is lovely and reassuring. He he wants me to up my dose of metformin to 3 a day and take clomid again for next 2 cycles and do cycle tracking through SIVF Clinic so we can understand if clomid actually is producing enough eggs and folicles because it hasnt worked so far since my M/C. If not we will do IVF in around March next year we think.
So girls, whats involved with with cycle tracking? is it just blood tests and ultrasounds throughout the cycle? when do you usually have them? any info appreciated, I will also read the SIVF for more info. We have a chat booked at SIVF Clinic early Jan to discuss but any info now would be wonderful so we can prepare ourselves.
Hello to everyone, I havent had time to read all the posts so will do that after work as Im madly trying to get lots of work done as boss has made appearance in office today! yikes, so I apologise I havent done any personals. I will do tonight. Thanks for all your support.
Bel

 The things we do eh?
So sorry to hear your news Chris.
Chin up buddy
Hi Bel,
I'm glad your appointment went really well. I'm actually doing IVF so don't have much to offer in the way of advice. However, I'd like to wish you and your DH all the best with your upcoming treatment!
Best of luck
Didge
Hi Girls,
Welcome to all the newies (I too was one only a few weeks ago). You will find the girls in here absolutely wonderful. It is great to be able to talk to people who know exactly how you are feeling and what you are going through. I would be lost without them.....
Hope everyone is doing well. I've been a bit down lately. I lost it with my Mum the other day and was in tears telling her how i was feeling re. SIL and her pg news. Didn't go down too well, but at least she knows how i'm feeling now. I was quite upset, and when i got home noticed some spotting, but it was only the once, so wasn't sure if AF was coming or not. I had rung the clinic earlier just to touch base and let them know that i was still waiting for AF to arrive so we could start the next round of clomid. They said they would send me to have a blood test to see if there was anything happening down there. According to Fertility Friend I am 10 DPO, so i'm hanging out for another hour or so to get the results.
Mind you after getting home from having the BT this morning, i noticed a bit more spotting, but once again nothing since. I tell you what.....if i don't get a BFP then AF is playing really nasty tricks.......stupid witch!!.
Marg - I too am with RMA working with Dr Gilltrap. I've found him wonderful and the girls at the clinic are great too. Where abouts do you live.....I couldn't imagine it would be too far away.
Well girls i'm going to go and find something to do to keep me busy for an hour or so. Might go over to the shop and annoy DH for a while. I'm sure he could use the company.
:bdust: :pdust: to all.
Shan
Okay girls.....according to the clinic, my BT came back with a :bfn: . We can't work out whats going on inside me. I heading over to the clinic today to have an U/S so they can check me out. AF didn't arrive at the end of November, and still hasn't.
This is all driving me around the bend.. ](*,) not to mention sending me a little :boggle: .
Anyway....i'm off to get ready to make the hour and a bit drive to the clinic, so i'll pop in when i get back and let you know the verdict.
Take Care,
Shan.
Hi Shan, so sorry to hear about the BFN - I know how much of a bummer it is - so take care and hope the appointment goes well.
I'm in Bendigo so it is just over a 3 hour drive to RMA. I'm in the process of transferring to Ballarat IVF as it is only 1 1/2 hrs drive - although I'm going to miss everyone at RMA as they have all been fantastic. I saw Dr Rasmuson who also did my fibroid surgery and she is wonderful. Even had one of the co-ordinators ring me yesterday to say keep my chin up and good luck at Ballarat which was lovely.
With my last IVF cycle they suppressed my ovulation for a week and that meant extra scans (and heaps of extra injections - gulp!) so I ended up doing over 2000kms in two weeks - it was crazy! So maybe less stress around driving so far might help my chances next time.
Marg
Oh Shan, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope that your appt goes well and that they can let you know what is going on.
So sorry Shan, be kind to yourself.
Hey Marg, I went to uni in Bendigo and worked for awhile there too.
Hi Ladies,
BFN for me this cycle. Will start again after this x-mas break.
Hope others are having more luck.
Thanks Marg & Mel ;)
Well I had the ultrasound and it still showed a big follicle and a really thick uterus lining, but the girls said that because i haven't had a period that it is probably stagnant and that the lining is two cycles worth.
The plan now is to DTD for a few nights just in case i do ovulate, but otherwise just wait for the witch to rear her ugly head.
If AF still hasn't come by the 9th Jan, then they want me to do another BT to make sure I'm not PG and then start on PRIMOLUT to bring my period on. Then do clomid in Jan and if no luck then onto AIH in Feb. That's a bit scary, but if it's my only option, then i'm taking it.
If I do happen to get my period before the clinic reopens, then i'm to take clomid and hope for the best. Hopefully though it works out that they have opened again by Day 12 so I can have my ultrasound. If not..then i'm on my own.
Has anyone else been on PRIMOLUT? Any comments about side effects etc would be a great help and put my mind at rest.
Thanks,
Shan
Hi Shan,
I have taken Primulut before. The only side effect that I can recall is when I stopped it I had what felt like a hot flush come on all of a sudden, and when that went kinda a cold sweat afterward? There's probably a more technical term/s to describe it. It didn't last long.
Hope that helps! I'll have my fingers crossed for you.
Cheers,
Hi Blue Sky,
thanks heaps for that. Hope you're having a good day..... 8-)
Shan
Sorry to hear about the BFN Teagan.

Take care,

Hi & welcome to the group lil_chookie, your details are all added to the front page.
~Angel Baby's Mum~ I've updated your details for you too.
HI everyone,
Kirsty can you please adjust my details - I've started downregging on synarel on the 16th Dec, and have my next appointment on 3/1, a bit delayed as the clinic closes over Christmas for a week.
I'll be on 187.5 of gonal f and will probably have ec on the week of the 10th.
I haven't been around much on this board lately as sadly we had to put our dearly beloved dog of 12 years to sleep. She had lost the use of her back legs, and was incontinent, so we had no other choice, but the hardest thing was that she was alert and wanting to play right till the end
Suzy
Suzy
That is so bad just before Christmas your poor dog. Good luck for Jan. We may be TWWaiting together as I am booking on for Natural Fet tomorrow Day 2. [-o<
Suzy: it's so sad to hear that you had to put your dear dog down. Our pets become such a big part of our lives that it's heartbreaking losing them.
Wishing you lots of luck in the new year.
Marg
Chele - goodluck on your FET cycle I will be thinking of you and have everything crossed
Suzy - I am so sorry for losing your beloved pet - it is so heartbreaking. September 2004 - our 4.5 yr old dog very suddenly lost the use of his back legs but he was also in extreme pain at the time - we took him to vet and they tried to treat him o/n but the next day we had to let him go.
goodluck stimming - grow follies grow and may 2006 bring all of you a BFP
with hope

Didge: thanks for your thoughts re: my BFN.. We are both ok. May we have a fresh start to 2006. Hope all went well today with ET.
Melinda: Thanks for your thoughts and keep up the good job with this site, in keeping us women in line and support.
Margoz: Thanking you for your thoughts and vibes.. Hoping we all have lots of luck in 2006.
Dragonfly: Some people do not stop to think, how easy it is to shoot out “it will be your turn nextâ€. Did they say that the last time when they just come out with it?? Sorry, I find that insensitive. And they don’t realise that the person they are talking to, do not even know themselves if it will ever happen… IYKWIM…
Hope you are coping ok with the double blow.
Kell: Thanks for your thought re: BFN. My fingers are x’d for you in 2006.
Shan: Sorry to hear your BFN. Fingers x’f for 2006. I have to take primolut with every IVF cycle, my cycles are too long for FET or fresh stim cycles and I get no side effects from it.
Teagan: Sorry about your bfn. May your luck change in 2006.
Lil_chookie: Welcome to BB. You will find lots of help and support here.
Chel: G’Luck with FET. Fingers x’d for BFP.
Suzy: That is so sad, I feel your pain. Loosing your beloved pet and wanting to do more for them, knowing it is impossible, is so heartbreaking. Hoping you are feeling better today.. I lost my dog in January and she was our little girl and still hurts to think about her.
Trish: How are you buddy. Hope the morning sickness has been keeping to a bearable minimum for you. Sorry to hear about your dog also. Like I was saying with Suzy, so sad about loosing loved pets. My dog was 4 years old, she was unusual animal (like her owner - LOL) and wanted to give her puppies.
Could someone please fill me in, with what the sticky vibes next to people name under November?? at start of this site. I am little confused that if it means they got BFP, Teagan mentioned she got BFN and has sticky vibes next her name.. I do not want to put the wrong thing in my posts and upset anyone.
If i dont talk to you all before Sunday ;) Merry Xmas.
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your thoughts about my ET. It has been rescheduled to this morning - Dr Wilkinson requested that he do it, which we're happy about, and not someone else, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well [-o< (we only retrieved 4 eggs, so I've been a bit frantic the past couple of days!).
I hope you and your DH have a lovely Christmas. You're a special lady Chris, and I hope 2006 reflects this for you! :flower:
Merry Christmas!
Didge
Hello Lovelies,
Teagan - I'm very sorry for the BFN. It's such a letdown isn't it.
Didge - good luck today ... every finger crossed for a Christmas wish come true!
Suzy - I'm very sorry about your dog. We had to euthanase our beloved cat in the middle of the year and I know how that feels. Nothing prepares you for having to make that decision does it?
Trish and Chris - ditto ladies. Something else we have in common. There are a lot of animal lovers in these forums which is nice ... I find it very comforting.
Chris - "sticky vibes" means someone has had an embryo transfer or similar and is waiting on results so it's for TWW Land.
Dragonfly - Like Chris said, I think people sometimes feel they just want to help so they say anything they think would be reassuring. They don't realise that when you have been on this path for a while reassurances sometimes ring very hollowly. I used to just wish that people would say "I'm sorry" and leave it at that but I guess not many are able to do that. I hope next year brings good luck for you.
... and that goes for all of you, too numerous to mention.
Love,
Mel
Didge - goodluck for your ET today :crossfingers: it is great your Dr wanted to do it himself [-o< for the first 2006 BFP
Chris - I think the mods might need to update the list that's all -
Mods- can I please not have my BFP in red
There are so many new ladies in here. I hope you all are on the baby trail for 2006.
Morning all,
Just wanted to thank you for your wishes about our dog. I am crying less over her now. Sometime soon, me and dh are going to scatter her ashes on all the places she used to love to walk in the bush round where we used to live (sounds macarbre doesn't it, but I think it'll really help in saying goodbye).
I think it'll take me ages to get to know everybody on this forum, so please fogive me if I seem to be writing me posts. I've resolved to check in every day though, and hope to be getting to grips with where everyone is.
Suzy
