LTTTC and Taking Clomid/Metformin # 8

Another scan today and nothing - my lining is only 7.5 and still no dominant follis. They have decided that they will only do 2 more cycles - increasing to a max of 100mg because I have multiple unmatured follicles already and they are worried clomid at a higher dose may cause a boom and I end up with 8 eggs (which they will remove - ethical guidelines and all but really what are the odds of that happening anyway)

So after that they are going to dump clomid and put me on injections..... They doubt that I would still be ovulating on my own in a month or two (which was my problem before the ovarian drilling)

I'm just so over it now. And emotional and feeling defeated you know.

They have said my cycle is likely to be another 40+ dayer again this month.

Sorry about the me me me stuff. How is everyone else going in their baby endeavors??

Joeve - how is your cycle looking???

No bts this month my lh is super high all cycle and dr didn't see that point because it will be a positive lh count but that would be false.

MD oh hugs that sounds very frustrating!
I am ok just really hot and a bit headachy which may or may not be clomid related! I think the 100mg has ramped up my side effects but they are still really minimal and no where near as bad as I expected. First bt today have to wait til Monday for results so just dtd anyway...

I can be I am taking metformin and using fsh injections. I'm mid cycle at the moment and hoping to o any time this week. I mainly hang out in the ltttc and ac chat thread as only just started on metformin but if you would like a companion I'm happy to join in.

I am Vicki - 27- mumma to a little man who is turning 4 on Sunday.

I have been on Metformin on and off for 5 years, when I was first prescribed I lost 10 kg in about 10 weeks and was very ill - and actually turned out I was pregnant Started back on Metformin about 12 mnths ago = only taking 500mg of the prescribed 1500mg I was suppose to take. I am slowly building up and I think I'm at about 750-1000mg atm.

I have PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I started on Provera in Dec after having LLETZ done in early Nov - was unknowingly 6-8wk UTD at the time - suffered a m/c on the 2/12/11.

Started Clomid this cycle - on 50mg taking from days 4-8 inc. Am currently on cd12. Have to go for BT on cd21.

I've lost 8 kg since the middle of Jan (not that you can notice it IMO) and hoping this will help get things into working order.

Hello everyone,

I'm new....looking to get some advice???

I'm 25 year old lady, no kids, I have PCOS and endo, I had an ectopic pregnancy in November 2011 which I naturally miscarried from. My husband and I have been ttc since August 2011.

I've just started Metformin - about a week now.

I don't know where I'm at in my cycle - it's as long as it wants and is no way predictable.

Even if you can't help, would be great to have a chat.

Hey ladies, I hope that I'm posting in the right thread/section of the forum...

My DH and I have been TTC for 20 months (I'm not sure what is considered LTCCer but I would think anything over 1 year with no success?

After my GP gave me a referral to see the Gyn/OB clinic at John Hunter Hospital I have had blood test, pelvic US and my DH had semen test. We got our results yesterday and the doctor said my bloods and US were normal. He said that he could see very small cysts but as the bloods came back that there was no sign of PCOS he doesn't think I should be concerned about them. My DH test was normal too so the doctor thinks that the problem is just that I'm not ovulating properly.

He has given me a prescription for Primolut N (10mg) and Clomid (50mg). So I'm on my second day of Primolut and hoping that it works properly and forces AF so I can start my first course of Clomid sometime next week.

I've read so many horror stories of Clomid and find it difficult to find anyone that has anything good to say about Clomid. I am hoping that you lovely ladies can shed some light of what is it REALLY like to use Clomid. I understand this is never guaranteed that it will assist in a pregnancy but I would love to hear some real stories and what I should expect when I start using the Clomid. Will I start feeling the side effects immediately or does it take a few days? Should I be worried?

Any advice, tips and stories would be greatly appreciated

Hiya. Anyone else around in here? I just picked up my first script for Clomid. I will be taking 100mg from day 3-7, then have an u/s on day 10. Depending on what's found, I will inject myself with Ovidrel, then have timed sex. I'm hoping like hell this helps us get a healthy, live baby. My ovarian reserve is stuffed, so I may not respond to the drugs. I do ovulate on my own, but we're kind of assuming the eggs are at the end of their life.

I'm hoping the side effects aren't too bad but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Just waiting for AF to show up which should be today or tomorrow.

Not in here at the moment, but I have been in here before as used Clomid to help fall pregnant with both of my children. I may however be back in here in the next fews months as my GP is sending me back to my ob/gyn as she thinks I may be going through premature menopause based on the results of some blood tests she did before I went back on the pill. My son is only 5 months so I was a bit shocked hearing this and I have no other symptoms of menopause except for not getting my cycle back, but I just thought that was from PCOS which I was diagnosed with in 2008. She is getting the blood tests repeated and I am also having an ultrasound before my appoint with the gyno of Oct5th.

I was planning on going back on the pill and waiting a few years before TTC again but with this news, if it turns out my times running out, then we will prob TTC very soon, and as I needed clomid before I am assuming I will need it again.

Can I ask how you know your ovarian reserve is "stuffed" and does your doc think the clomid will help with the egg quality since you are assuming your eggs are at the end of their life?

I found the side effects not too bad. I was on 50mgs and experienced a few hot flushes and headaches but nothing too awful and then when I took it when TTC my son I suspect I had mild OHSS as I was incredibly bloated and in pain.

Hope you will respond well to the clomid

Hi Razzberry. I know my ovarian reserve is stuffed because my AMH=1, and FS and LH are high. It's all very depressing. Ironically, we got pregnant again the same cycle we found out about the AMH results, but that ended in a chemical. In one way, I'm thankful that, if there was something wrong, we lost it early. I'm still hoping for a healthy bean one day.

The Clomid wont help with quality, but may give ovulation a boost. I'm taking a bunch of other things to help with quality, including Vit D, coq10, melatonin and my normal round of pills. I'm 38 and have been through a huge amount of stress in the last few years. I'm not surprised my eggs are old. It's just depressing dealing with possible infertility on top of everything else we've been through.

How many cycles did it take you to conceive your children?

i thought clomid did help with quality? That's why I was on it?

My eggs were apparently 'immature' which is why i couldn't conceive.. It only took 2 cycles on 50mgs clomid

It worked first cycle with my daughter and second cycle with my son. So very fortunate it happened quickly for us.

So sorry you are now possibly facing infertility after everything you have been through

Meant to add the second cycle with my son we thought i hadn't ovulated but turned out I ovulated day 21 with it!
