Paula - I am so sorry to hear about AF, these things never get any easier.
Nix - my sister ate the packet ham when she was pregnant with my niece but she made sure it had a long use by date and that it was used with in 1or 2 days of opening. I have also heard that you can request deli meat to de freshly sliced and consume quickly. I guess it just depends how comfortable you feel with things. GL with the emotional roller coaster. There is nothing worse than the TWW, at least it's half over. I hope you are feeling better tomorrow.
Tania & Nix - can you recommend a particular specialist at MIVF. I may be relocating to Melbourne at the end of the year and thought I would start researching just in case.
Babydreamtime - I was thinking about quitting caffeine in my upcoming FET TWW but think I might also start earlier. As you say anything that helps.

Paula, I am so sorry hun to hear your news, its just so unfair. Look after yourself and big

Hi Ladies,
Babydreamtime/ Mitf - Just been reading your posts and am also changing my diet for next Stim Cycle (just had a BFN from FET). I found out some interesting things you might like to know about caffeine (I have sourced this info from the web so cannot guarantee that it is 100% correct although all info tended to say the same thing!):
Beverage or Item/ Container or Size/ Typical caffeine content
Coffee Instant/ 150 ml cup/ 60-100 mg
Percolated or Drip/ 150 ml cup/ 100-150 mg
Espresso/ 150 ml/ cup 90mg
Decaffeinated/ 150 ml/ cup 2-4 mg
Tea/ 150 ml cup/ 30-100 mg
Cocoa/ 150 ml cup/ 30-60 mg
Cola Soft Drink/ 250 ml/ 35 mg
Energy Drink/ 250 ml/ 80 mg
Chocolate Bar/ 30 gm bar/ 20-60 mg
Prescription/over-the-counter medicines or tablet/ 20-100 mg
I didn't realise that tea even had caffeine in it!
Another handy hint is to have carob instead of chocolate as it does not contain caffeine...
Paula: Sorry to hear that AF showed her ugly head and bigs hugs to you
Anyway hope this helps and good luck to all those on the 2WW :goodluck:

Mitf - I went through Dr Jim Tsaltas and he was TERRIFIC! I had severe endo as well so had to have major surgery last year which he also did as he works at Endo Care Assoc as well as MIVF.
-
I'd add Dr John McBain at MIVF. Told me I was boring when I told my only vice was red wine ;)

Hi Everyone,
I've been laying a bit low since my ET on Monday. The wait is far worse than I could have imagined. I've been really emotional and am convinced it hasn't work. In fact I find it really hard to believe the Embie is even still there. All my family are cranky at me for being so negative, but I can't help it.
Is this normal? Does anyone else feel like this?
One more question- Has anyone had a FET on a natural cycle with no drugs/intervention? How do they know my body has the right hormones to support a pregnancy without help?
Sorry for lots of questions, the wait is driving me crazy? :wall:

FS at MIVF
Hi Mitf,
I am going thru Dr Scott Pearce who has rooms at Cabrini in Caulfield and rooms at Mt Waverley. To be honest I have only ever met with him about 3 or 4 times (1 about 18 months ago for a ov cyst) then twice for IVF appointments and just before my EPU. He is very lovely and explains things well and I feel comfortable asking him questions. I have not really shopped around to compare IVF prices but did compare Obs prices and he is up there as he delivers in private hopspitals, but he was not the most expensive. He is also quite successful with his IVF I believe.
Also I guess it depends on where you may be living as to what doc is gd for you - cos you don't want to have to travel too far and for me I would like to choose someone who could also see me through my pregnancy right thru to after birth care so you can stick with the 1 FS.
There is a huge list of doctors through MIVF so if you do some good research I'm sure you will find someone that suits you.
Also - MIVF have been great. Lovely to deal with, don't keep you waiting, very helpful. My clinic nurse is really nice. They also have satelite clinics so you don't have to travel in to East Melbourne for your US and BT's. Quite handy - not sure if other places offer something like that.
Good luck in the hunt - I like your style and being super organised - just like me!!!

Best of luck today Baby2Bee!

Paula - I'm so sorry that AF raised her ugly head.. Big hug for you...
Baby2bee - Good luck with your BT today.. Fingers crossed here...
Star bright - I had 2 natural FET's and on my 2nd one I fell PG... On a natural cycle your body does what it always does which is produce the hormones in your body incase the egg fertilises.. You still release an egg after you surge and basically your clinic will BT you to find that surge then put your FET back in at the time in your normal cycle that it would expect a fertilised egg to want to implant... Your body should be ready for this... My clinic did a BT to check my progesterone levels 2 days before TF just to make sure I could support a PG on my own otherwise they will supplement your progesterone to help... HTH... Goodluck and my DH accused me of being negative on my last FET because I was already planning the next Stim cycle and I fell PG... If our state of mind was all it took and had that much ofa bearing on the outcome of getting PG we would've all been PG 10 times over.. We protect ourselves mentally as best we can..

MissMagpie, LondonMiss & Nix - thanks for the advice re MIVF. Hopefully I will be pregnant before then and won't need a new FS but it doesn't hurt to be organised.
Baby2Bee - best of luck today! :crossfingers:
Starbright - Wishing you all the best on your TWW. I hope you can try and stay positive. I am gearing up to do a natural FET so your questions and limisshavachats response has helped me also. I am sure our FS wouldn't be signing us up for it if they weren't getting results with this approach.
Coral - thanks for the caffine numbers. I did know that tea & chocolate were included but it brings it home when you see the figures there in front of you.
:goodluck: and best wishes to all on the TWW :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:

Baby2Bee - good luck today!:goodluck:
Paula - I'm sorry that AF showed
starbright - I felt exactly the same way on my first IVF cycle, I was upset cause they never gave me any "support hormones" I was left on my own with pregnal injections every 3rd day. Not happy Jan! I felt a bit neglected and ripped off, I didn't want to feel like a science experiment, but thats how I felt. Not to mention the feeling of "your not smart enough to understand whats going on - so do what your told" I soon learnt to stand my ground lol.. now they know my voice when I call!!! I would push back and ask more questions - I supposed the best way to look at it is - your paying them to do a job, so they owe YOU.
AFM - not to bad this morning. Had the initial blood test this morning, I suppose I am thinking it *wont* work - so I don't set myself up for dissapointment. Does anyone know the average statistics on how many times you have to go through IVF before you get a *live birth* - I have read up and its pretty vague it sorta says 3-4 times for pregnancy, but thats not live birth - and doesnt specify if its a full stim cycle or just a FET - my brain is running over time today, can you tell ???
-
Hey Baby2Bee - GL with the test today. Will be nice to read some positive news so fingers crossed for all of us.
Krikkit - can't help you sorry with your question!!I don't think I want to know the answer though myself given I'm on first cycle - hopefully I am one of those ones that brings the stats down to a low number!!
-
Hi Krikkit, I have heard 3 stim cycles and associated FETs for a live pregnancy, but in my experience most get theirs after up to 3 transfers, then there are the harder cases that take a little longer. Praying for a BFP for you this cycle.
-
Girls im out! Thanks for the GL's!! Im getting ready to board a plane for broome now with a champas in hand!! Im feeling fine.....ready to move straight back into a new cycle when i get home!! GL to all in the 2ww
-
Baby2bee - sorry to hear. You sound well adjusted to the news. Although few words might also mean hard to talk? I love your attitude and with a trip to Broome planned that would certainly help. God what I would do for a glass of bubbly! You enjoy it - its well earned hey! Enjoy the break and here's hoping the next cycle will be the one.
-
Baby2Bee - So sorry to here it's a BFN. These things never get any easier. I hope you have a fab time in Brome and enjoy the bubbly. Wishing you success for your next attempt.
-
Sorry Baby2Bee.. Enjoy your champers and take care of yourself. Best of luck with your next cycle!
-
B2B- I so sorry this cycle didn't work out for you.
lilmiss- Thanks for the info on the natural FET. The BT 2 days before makes sense. I wish I would have been given that. It would have let me trust my body a little more. I had a BT 7 days before. I will be bringing this up with FS if I get a BFN. Your view on things does put me at ease. I think that part of my negativity is self-preservation.
mift- Glad it was a useful question. I wish it was described to me better. GL with your natural FET.
Krikkit- It's terrible how they railroad us when we are new to whole ART thing. They think the first cycle is no big deal. It is the one that they should be treating us the best and is usually the most expensive. I will definitely be different next time round.
Sorry Krikkit, I can't answer your question but I know exactly how you're feeling. I feel like I have constant butterflies in my tummy. Can I ask a question, What was the BT you had today for? Should I be having it too??
AFM- I'm struggling with constant feelings of anxiety. Just wish I knew one way or the other. I keeping feeling my BB to check if they are sore, then I panic that I can feel lumps. My mind is all over the place. If I was going to POAS, when should I do it? Is Sunday too early? My Day 5 ET was on Monday. That would be an awesome father's day present.
Apologies for my ramblings  I'm blaming the 2WW!
