Clomid vs Femara

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if anyone has used Femara. My FS has recently prescribed it for me as an alternative to Clomid. Apparently this medication is actually used for Breast Cancer but they have discovered that it helps people ovulate like Clomid does, but it only releases one egg.

I have not started on the Femara yet, and was hoping some of you could shed some light on the side effects to expect. I have read lots of posts re side effects from Clomid and wondered if they are similar.

I used femara to induce ovulation... I think the main difference between clomid and femara for me was that the femara worked! Clomid basically induced a mental breakdown so severe that my GP (the one who had to deal with the fall out) basically forbid me from ever going near it again and after all that, I completely failed to ovulate with it. The main side effects with the femara was really just a few hot flushes while taking the pills and that was really all I recall.
