Thanks carr2walks. Im trying not to get too excited about the whole thing. The councellor told us that it takes on "average" 5 to 8 cycles for it to work so not holding onto lots of hope my first time round although thats easier said than done. Just dont want to be hype myself up lots only to be majorly let down.

Thanks for the welcome and advice Possums

MissMagpie- Trust me, it's so easy to get excited!
Does any1 know how early is too early to do a preg test? I did my FET 8 days ago, but only did my last pregnyl injection on sunday. Would it be too early to test now? And could you get a false positive if you did test cause of the pregnyl injection?

Welcome MissMagpie, I hope the tww goes quickly for you! I've found that keeping busy in the evenings makes the time go quicker for me. I've generally bought a new book (or 2) at the start of my tww so I have something to read. Otherwise, I'm a bit addicted to the Wii at the moment, so I'm trying to get through one of the games I've had for a while. I hope you can find something to keep you busy during the next 2 weeks.
carr2walks, my mid-luteal levels have generally been around O - 800 - 1500 and P - 50 - 120 on my medicated cycles for this year, so if mine happen to be a fair bit higher today I'll ask the nurse what that could mean, and let you know what they say.
Possums, I hope your pain has been ovulation pain!! best of luck.
:hello: to everyone else

carr2walks, it is too early to do a hpt. The hcg hormone from the Pregnyl shots can stay in your system for up to a week, which could give you a false negative. Please try and avoid it, I'd hate for you to do a test, get a positive because of the shot, and then be dissapointed at bt if it was a false negative!
-
Alloy-Thanks! I know I should wait till the BT monday, and if I get too excited I might test Sunday ( thats's when i was due to BT but clinic is shut). It's hard to keep away from the hpt though. As long as I don't go to the shops, i think I'll be fine!
-
carr2walks, Sunday should be alright. I've got my last Pregnyl shot tonight, and my bt is next Tuesday, so that's exactly a week. I've managed to keep myself away from the hpt because I know I'd be wasting my money, and would hate to be so excited and then let down in a big way after bt. I did that about 2 years ago, when I misread a hpt and it wasn't fun!!
-
Thanks Alloy. I would LOVE a wii, lol That would be a great occupier of time! I find Ive been very tired every since I started my cycle so once Ive cooked dinner and done some general chores, its time for bed or I have fallen asleep on the couch, lol
Im worried about the side affects of the Crinone gel too. Have read some other threads on here about how awful it is. Will just have to wait and see how I react to it.
Good luck to all and thanks again for the welcomes/advice. I have found this site very helpful and have read some useful tips too.

Alloy- I remember the days when every month, if I was a day late I'd test. The amount of money I've spent on hpt's the last 3 and a half years! Geez!
Good luck with your BT tues, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

carr2walks, I just spoke to the nurse at my clinic, and my levels are O - 750 and P - 105. I commented that my levels had always been higher than that, and asked if that meant anything. She said that no matter how high or low the levels are, it can't give them an indication of the outcome, so I'd just have to wait.
MissMagpie, :crossfingers: that any side effects you get from the crinone are minimal. I didn't have any side effects at all (thankfully, everything I've read is bad)!!
-
Alloy- Thanks for asking them, and letting me know!
-
tania - i didn't find i had any side effects from crinone...just the yucky remnants that are expelled during the day. as much as i didn't like using it, i did find it was a good way to count down till the BT! (10 crinones to go, 9 crinones to go and so on...!). hope it's not doing your head in :)
carr2walks - i POAS last time 2 days before my BT (the day I would have ovulated) and it showed a bfp (which unfortunately we lost). i think this time i will POAS again on saturday 22/11 (with my BT on 24/11). there's obviously very good reason to wait until the BT (because the HPT can be negative when you are in fact pg), but i never have the patience! :D
hi to everyone else - good luck in the lead up to your BT's! (11 days to go for me...)
lets go get some BFPs!
Mels xx

Thanks Mels. No side affects so far but its only been 2 days.
My BT is also on the 24th. Lets hope for 2 BFP!!!!
Im finding it all very daunting since its my first cycle. Feels weird to assume to be pregnant and live accordingly. I feel like Im in limbo which I guess it is really. I cant tell people "Im pregnant" even though I cant eat certain foods, be careful of lifting heavy etc and cant take medications.
Im trying to stay positive but I know realistically Im unlikely to fall pregnant from only one cycle. I dont know what the statistics are of people getting pregnant after one cycle, does anyone know?
Its so hard to keep a brave face at times and just smile when people ask, "so how are you?" Its even worse having to sit at work everyday with a girl beside me who is almost due to have her baby and having to endure EVERY detail of her pregancy etc.
Sorry to vent girls. Just having a bad day and this wait is already getting to me.
Good luck to all and my fingers AND toes are crossed!

tania - i know exactly how you feel. one of my very good friends is just about to have a baby and at times it gets very hard to endure (especially in the TWW). i also know what you mean about the food, drink, exertion...i almost feel like cancelling plans so i can just hibernate for the two weeks (so as not to draw attention to myself).
as for success on the first time round - i know two couples who got a BFP (and a baby) from their first IVF cycle. I also got a BFP the first time round, though sadly we miscarried a few days later. You have as good a chance as any to get a BFP first time round! stay super positive!  for BFPs for us both on 24/11!!

Thanks HEAPS Mels for that encourangement and stats. Makes me feel alot better. Sorry to hear of your miscarriage.
Hibernation does sound good! That way you wouldnt have to explain yourself and if your having a bad day, you can have a bad day! Not pretend to be all happy. Im so exhausted too which doesnt help.
I had major corrective surgery in July so was hoping that my body was cherry ripe to fall pregnant. Will find out soon enough. Are there any early signs during the TWW that would indicate pregnancy? I know that the crinone has side affects similar to pregnancy so dont want to think that I am if all it is is the crinone doing its thing, if that makes sense.
Thanks again Mels and hoping for a BFP for you on the 24th.

hi tania - the first time i miscarried i did have symptoms (heavy CM, very sore bb's). But then before my second miscarraige (which actually lasted longer and had a higher HCG) I had absolutely zero symptoms. I don't think anything can be really accurate other than the blood test! ...but despite my own advice, I'm always still looking for symptoms :D
Glad you hear your surgery in July went well and you're all fit to go get pg!

Thanks again Mels for the info. Its very helpful. :D
I havent read up much on pregnancy and dont want to jinx myself by buying pregnancy books. As much as I have always wanted a baby, circumstances werent right to TTC so havent done lots of research. Plus have had Endo for a while now too.
I hope the operation will make things easier too to get pregnant. At least Im not in extreme pain anymore, thankfully!
Thanks again,
Tania :noaf:

Mels- I am avoiding the shops so i don't buy a HPT! I've tested early before and got a BFN, so I think if i test too early and get a BFP i'd get too excited. MInd you, when we fell pregnant last year (naturally, in between operations) I was a week late and testing at home and it kept coming up BFN, then at dr's it was BFP- a blood test confirmed but unfortunately my levels were just too low to hold onto it.
MissMagpie- when we fell last year, even before we found out, i found i was HATING off orange juice ( and I LOVE oj), and my BB were sore for longer than usual. It sounds silly since we MC'd at just over 6 weeks, but I was queasy from probably about 4 weeks. I think it was MS- but i thought 4 weeks was too early to get sick. Who knows?!!
Hope everyone is well! Only 5 more days till BT. Woo Hoo!
