LTTTC Two Week Wait - September/October 08

Hi everyone, just popping in to wish you all the best of luck in the TWW. hope you are all doing OK.

Buliej- two lines!!!! I am sooo excited for you. wonderful news and sounds very promising. I must admit, I did quite a few HPTs in my TWW last time too, and I was getting faint lines from about 11DPO..i didn't want to say anything on here and jinx it :redface:...(or in case it was a false positive or something).... I kep doing them every day then until my BT, I was addicted...and the second line kept getting steadily darker. I had them all lined up in the bathroom!

hi my name is lydia and I have been looking at these sites for ages and finally decided to post! im 21 and been with my partner for 3 years we are both professionals and are settled so before i go on i dont want to hear the your too young business or u should be married because ive heard it all before no offense! it took 15 months to get pregnant the first time but had a blighted ovum and the sac measured 8 weeks! i had no bleeding or cramping so i didnt find out til 12 weeks it was so awful walking round for 3 months with an empty womb. i chose the d and c as it had not passed after 4 weeks and it was classed as emergency. i never got follow up bloods to measure hcg or a secind ultrasound and i wish i had now for piece of mind as i have a retroverted uterus and sometimes wonder if maybe just maybe there was still a bit of hope. BUT i will never know! my cycle is always exactly 28 days even one month after d and c i was back to normal! it has been another 6 months and im sick of getting negatives! my partner is healthy and im a bit overweight but have recently lost 5 kilos and hopefully alot more! we both dont smoke or even drink! EVER and still nothing has happened. im sure i ovulate as my cycle is clockwork. ive finally made an appointment for my partner to get his sperm tested and bloodwork so hopefully it will rule some things out. I never thought i would have so much trouble i want some answers so we can save for ivf or adoption and have a good 20 years to work it all out. im soooo frustrated im a nurse and see pregnant women ALL the time! and i still cry often especially now as my due date was november 17. the only thing i can think of is i caught chlamydia at 17 and it took 3 lots of treatment to cure it but i never got PID and doctors said it wouldnt be that but im still worried as i could of had it for a year as i only found out when my partner had symptoms and we both realised what had happened. Ive used all types of ovulation detectors and am on the fertility monitor for the first time and havent detected any ovulation yet but with the maybe baby it said i ovulated everyday! im so confused My partner is getting a semen analysis on wednesday and we are getting a fertility review at monash ivf on the gold coast and im nervous yet excited to get the ball rolling. I am currently on day 19 of 28 day cycle and feeling like time has stopped! ANY help or advice would be great or to talk to someone going through the same thing!

Hey Lydia (love your name by the way - it's one of my favourites!!)

Don't know that I can offer any advice, but you are definitely NOT too young...I think it a real mistake to tell women they are too young for kids - because women wait, and then when they are older they can have all sorts of difficulties (with less time to sort them out...!!).

I really hope you get some answers and become the mother you so want to be. It isn't fair sometimes, and it is very hard to see other people with their children (particularly if they don't treat them well).

We've had two cycles with not much luck and we are looking into international adoption as well. The best advice I could give you is reach out for support whenever you need it - if your clinic has counsellors go and see them even if you don't think you need it. I didn't think I did, but when I went I found myself crying and really working through some feelings I didn't think I even had!!

Anyway - that's enough rambling from me...big :hug: to you and keep in touch!

Just thought I would drop you all a line to say I wish you all the best of luck on your journey. I too am going through my TWW and so far it's 10 down and 4 days to go. So I am really nervous and have no idea what to expect. Does anyone know how soon after ET will a HPT work, and are they worth doing???

well, here again in TWW... usually post in LTTTC and AC thread so I know a few of you from there... Had a blastie put in today, a little bit of a slow starter but the doc thinks he/she will make it through. Decided to take more control this cycle and go through acupuncture, its great and so relaxing that its gotta help, my AP is lovely scottish girl and makes me feel so positive about it all.

Buleij, GL for your BT, sounds very close to a BFP so :pray: for you

KateB, keep positive sweetie, I know its a lot of money and stress to go thru but I'm sure you'll get your own bub soon

im so NERVOUS,EXCITED,WORRIED all at the same time.
Couldnt fault westmead they were unreal, (even if i didnt see my Dr one bit from first consult). Anyway im now on the journey with u special girls awaiting impatiently!!:pray:

Buliej - Congrats on those two lines. Must be a wonderful feeling - lets hope that the blood test confirms it all.

Kate - so sorry to hear about your BFN and no frosties.

AFM - I still have to make it to Friday for my blood test. I'm not going to test first because if I do I know that it will be a BFN and I will be sad. But there is a test in the cupboard that keeps calling my name. I keep telling it to shut up because it won't change the outcome! Was having quite nasty crampy pains for a few days but it was too early for AF and the clinic nurses thought that it was probably a crinone side effect. These have gone now so I am not sure if it is a good thing or now (at least I am more comfortable :) ). Can't wait for Friday. It is only 3 more sleeps isn't it. Dh has nicknamed the embie "mighty man" and has been chatting away to "him" each night so I hope that he lives up to his name and sticks like glue. :pray:

Hi Alloy, by the sounds of things we have the same FS @ F.Nth. There is a lovely lady who is presently seeing all her clients and I'm sure if you asked one of the nurses (Eileen) they might be able to slot you in somewhere......fingers crossed.

... just got an offical :bfp:. HCG levels of 382 and progesterone levels (I think that's what she said) of 205. I'm due for my six week scan on the 30th as I'll be overseas until the 28th...

buliej: Your lucky little FET was definately a goodie. Congrats on your longed for BFP and hope you have a wonderful 9 months watching your belly grow..

AFM: Well, I'm officially back in the TWW after what seems like ages. Had 2 day 3 FET's transferred today. I was so excited as both of our snowflakes survived the thaw (and we still have our 12 spares), which I'm hoping is a good sign. They said one was a beautiful 8 cells (so no loss of cells in the thaw) and one was a 6 cell, which so long as there were more than 4 cells is fine.

I also has my pre & post acupuncture to hope this helps the "boys or girls" stick like glue. My FS did the transfer today, last time was his associate and he made me feel confident that things might go well this time as he said that because we were so close last time it shows that things know what to do.

So BT on the 20/10 and the FS was so confident he told me he would see me 3 weeks later for my scan. I can only hope & :pray: that I make it through the next TW's to our wanted BFP.

Good luck with everyone else in here at the moment, whether you are just at the beginning of your TWW or nearing the end of the torture. WIll be looking out for lots of BFP's this month.

Buliej- Thats Fantastic news Congratulations

Brooke- I think it depends if your clinic uses any boosters i would ring the Nurse to double check i have 3 booster shots of Pregnyl 1500 after.

Metoo, sounds like we do have the same FS. I've been told however that I will have to wait until she got back from holidays, and the first appointment was 28th November, so that would have been too late to start anything before christmas. I was able to let the nurses know that I really wasn't happy with having to wait that long though, and Dr Chapple has authorised me to have an FET cycle before the end of the year, so I'm now just waiting to be day 1 again after having this month off. Good luck for Thursday!!

This TWW is DRAGGING......I don't know how I'm going to get through it. The day of my BT is a very busy clinic at work and I'm a bit worried about being there when I get the phone cal lin the afternoon....if it's good, I"ll just want to run home to DH, but if it's bad I'm not sure I'll be able to carry on at work!! Never mind, patience is a virtue right?!?!? :o

Brooke, glad you were able to sort out with nurses, think all clinics must do different cause i had 1 injection at transfer...

Hey Kelly, you are a power house with 12 frosties still waiting adn 2 on board - you go girl! Dunno about you but i keep looking out for those preg symptoms - sore BB etc - that everyone says you get even with the hormone injection.. bring it on! :lol:

Neptune, stick in there hun, can you do any pampering or fun distractions to take your mind off the TWW?

Muppity, i reckon i'd into the POAS test as soon as i could! the BT is more the official confirmation, sure you'll figure it out tho

As of yesterday I am now aboard the two week wait train as well. Hopefully it will be a smooth ride to the desired destination!!!:pray:

I have two on board and one still fighting through to see if it will make it to the freezer! I find out tomorrow on that one.

Hi everyone else - work is calling (just like that blasted HPT!)

Good for you Muppity, I personally can't wait to do a HPT. I'm on a 32 day cycle so my BT is on Monday so I'm a little jealous that you've got your blood test on Fri. I'm thinking maybe I'll do a HPT on Friday.

I figure if it's negative then I won't (hopefully) burst into tears when the nurse calls me at work to confirm and if it's positive I won't believe it until she calls either so it will still be a nice surprise - I've been lucky enough to have had a successful pregnancy from a FET so I know how nervous I was when the nurse called even though I'd had a positive result from a HPT a few days before.

hi guys my DP went to gp and we are testing swimmers on tuesday so will have some news next week! Im also going to get tested for pcos, endo and get my hormone levels checked to rule it all out before seeing FS.

im currently on day 22 of a 28 day cycle ( always like clockwork) and i dont have sore breasts ( i ALWAYS do about a week in advance) and I also have really sharp pains shooting up my cervical area, would this be a pregnancy symptom of implantation perhaps? i dont expect to get pregnant anymore without treatment of some kind but just would like your thoughts on this also when my nipples do hurt the left one is always much worse has anyone expeienced this? one nipple much more sensitive than the other.

I haven't called by for a bit. We had no luck this month. 11 eggs retrieved, 7 fertilised, one emby put in, a BFN and the other 6 didn't survive to be frozen.

We're feeling somewhat sad, but you know, we will try again and we are also going to head down the adoption path - perhaps my baby needs to be born through another mother...they'll still be my baby.

:hug: to everyone - especially those with BFNs or no transfer. We can only get stronger!

Get your 2 on board soon and join me in here. Amazingly enough I'm much more relaxed this time than last.

Maybe because when the FS did the transfer he was sooooooo extra positive, maybe it's because I know what to expect or maybe it's because having 2 on board decreases the presuure of having that sole one needing to make it through. Although the stats don't reflect double the chance of success, mentally I'm thinking that way.

Don't ever think your not liked, I personally have been flat chat trying to read everything I can possibly get my hands on, so I dont go mad.........I know it's so cleche, but hang in there - All good things are worth waiting for :) Just means it will be all that more special for you when it does happen.

just a question, do u get period like heavyness about 4 days after transfer? im a newbie. it feels like im gunna get my period, im confused. do u get your period so soon if it doesnt work???? ( do u roughly go off when u had your period the month before?)

Hi Broooke

Our body does strange things to us during the TWW. We generally find that because we are hoping so hard that our little one's stick, that we become more aware of any symptoms.

In relation to the "heaviness feeling", if you are 4 days since a day 3 transfer thsi is around the time that you embryo shoudl be a hatching blasty and trying to find a good place to snuggle into. So the heaviness might be some slight cramping from this happening. Don't quote me but I think it generally takes about 6 days for the embryo to really grab on, so you might get feelings over the next few days.

If you had a day 5 blasty, then you are aleady further along the implantation timeline, fingers crossed for you that it is your little one getting nice a comfy for a long time.

I had my transfer on Tuesday of 2 day 3's, so they should both hopefully be at hatching blasty stage for me as well. From last night I have started feeling a tugging sensation and am feeling a bit queasy in the stomach, so I am hoping it is the extra hormones that I am taking causing this and that my little ones are finding there comfy spot as well.

I know it is hard to not analyse every twinge, cramp or discomfort but if you haven't had any spotting, hold out a bit longer and hopefully you get your BFP in the next couple of weeks.

My imagination is in overdrive!!!!! My B/T isn't until Wednesday, but I feel a little off. Very hungry and eating healthily, but cannot stomach the thought of chocolate or cake :o this is very unusual for me!!!

I am very naughty and did a HPT today and it was strongly positive!!!!! I can't read too much into it as I have been on the HCG injections and the IVF nurses warned me NOT to do a HPT, but there are 2 in the cupboard left over form the last 3 years, so I couldn't resist.

I know it could be a false +ve, but I just enjoyed looking at the 2 lines for once!

I did a HPT this morning which came back negative. Not sure if I'll do another before my BT on Monday, have never felt v positive about this cycle anyway.

AFM - I'm out. Nadda, zero, zilch. Passed a couple of clots las night but nothing else. Was feeling OK until about lunch time when AF turned up in a particularly nasty mood. Blood tests confirmed that it seemed that Mighty Man didn't stick at all. And now it seems that I may have some sort of infection - she smells really really bad (sorry - prob TMI). Am having some tests on Monday to see if it is anything to worry about - might need antibiotics but apparently I should let AF run its course because hopefully shedding the lining will probably get rid of any infection anyway. So, the fun continues :)

At the moment I feel fine about it - not sure how it will go when DH comes home - might be a bit of a mess then. Funny thing is that I knew that something wasn't right - the cramps that I had from after the transfer weren't normal and I am now guessing weren't the crinone speaking. Ah well. We live and learn.

Probably won't be around much in the next few days - so goodluck to everyone who is testing. I'm thinking of every one of you.
