I'll be starting lucrin in a few days after a not so great experience with synarel.
First question - has anyone used both? How do the side effects compare?
I had dreadful, crippling headaches for the first week on synarel, and the nurses are telling me I shouldn't have anything like that with the lucrin as I'll be taking it once a day only, and if I do it at night I should be fine.
Second question - why do I not need a blood test before starting lucrin?
I had one before starting synarel to check that it was ok to start. Things didn't work right, so the synarel was stopped, a trigger shot was given and I went in a week later to have another blood test before resuming the synarel. Unfortunately, my levels were wrong yet again, I'm now having to take primolut for a week, and will start the lucrin after 6 days on primolut The switch to lucrin was decided on after the comment was mad that we need to ensure I'm absorbing enough synarel and me revealing that I have hayfever and am normally a bit sniffly, but was shockingly congested while on the synarel. But no blood test before starting lucrin. Why?
I tried to get DH to ask the question while he was in at the clinic picking up more drugs - he was told that was just the protocol and I didn't need a blood test. But if the synarel and lucrin are doing the same thing, why do I not need a blood test before starting lucrin?
Third question - why does the lucrin dosage drop when I start puregon?
