We had ET Saturday week ago 23/6 and have been on 3 x 200mg prog pessaries. I have progressively since Sunday lost the swollen feeling in my bb's and tonight I did a HPT and it was negative. I dont feel in my heart that I am preg and I know for the record I have to do the BT in the morning but wanted to put myself out of my misery.
Sooooo ladies my questions are:
Could I be preg (considering last ft preg I was only 44 hcg at 15 dpo)?
Should I still put the 3 prog pess in as normal?
Could the tester I used not be picking up HPT?
Sorry, I am probably asking questions which are probably unanswerable but needing some hope.
This was our 1st ivf/icsi/assisted hatching and I was really bummed we only got 2 eggs and only one was viable and fertilised ET at 3 days 6 cell emby. We previously have done 9 unmedicated cycles of IUI (2 chem preg) without success. Reason behind so many IUI's was we had successfully conceived previously.
I'm sorry you're feeling low ... I'd love to be able to give you all the answers, but as I'm yet to start our first IVF, I honestly can't tell you.
What I can say is that it certainly can't hurt can it??? I mean if you're PG then it'll help the bubs and if you're not PG then it won't hurt and you can feel good in the knowledge that if there was a bubs you did everything in your power to help it along.
I just want to send you our love and prayers ... IVF is not fun and certainly not for the faint of heart ... I think you've done a fantastic job to have come this far, and hopefully the end you've been longing for is in sight
Tekah,
Just wanted to pop in an wish you luck - maybe you tested too early. I don't have the answers for you on that one, ivf is such a rollacoaster of emotions and it can do your head in at times, stay strong sending you
tekah, it's possible that you tested too early... it also seems that with IVF the levels of HCG are initially very low.
I tested the day before my blood test and got a BFN. I'd had an extremely pale line the day before which could only be seen in certain light, but I'd changed brands and couldn't even see a suggestion of a line that day. Blood test still came back positive, though.
Hang in there. And remember that the first run through IVF is usually just experimental to get an idea of how your body responds to the drugs, if a second go is necessary they usually get a much better response.
We had bloods today and it was negative. So I got to speak to FS tonight (he kindly returned my call) and we are doing another cycle back to back but he did indicate that the flare cycle was the best considering my age and is uping my gonal f to 450 and 15units of lucrin with a hcg injection later on.
He believes my poor response is due to my "mediocre" egg reserve. How devastating to hear that but know that he is just being honest.
Anyway, am on the road again - have something to focus on again......
Tekah,
Sory to hear your bloods were not so kind, I have done a few IVF cycles 19 all up and ad many different responses with the prog pessaries. One I got AF whilst still on them, one I got a BFP really early day 10ish and one I got a BFN and then had a BT done which came back positive.
Good luck with the flares, they worked better for me than down reging
Bec
Tekah,
I am sorry for the negative result - it can be so disappointing i know. When you said because of my age and egg reserve , do you mind if i ask how old you are? you can see from my sign im 42 and on ivf/icsi, actually on my ttw from hell right now, and yes if it is your 1st go it is kind of experimental for the doc's , just remember they are only doing their best and ivf is NOT an exact science. Hope you are okay - i know everytime i get a negative i just cry and cry and cry - how are you doing hun? Thinking of you
Just want to say thanks heaps for all your support. Being a newby too it was a little daunting coming in. But needed somewhere to vent my woe. Figured we are all going thru the same thing and you would all understand.
Well we had a quick pow wow and decided to give it a go again. Picked up drugs on Friday and injected when I got home as Friday was day2.
Lissie - Of course I dont mind you asking, I am 39 heading for 40 in Feb 08.
Bec - OMG how did you manage 19 ivf cycles, strong lady is all I can say.
Diva- Good luck for your first IVF cycle. Thanks for your kind words and support.
Well stayed the day in bed today, why you ask, cause I guess my body finally told me to sit and stay. Needs a break I guess before the next emotional rollercoaster. DH has been wonderful today, not batted an eyelid over my total lack of movement. Feeling rather guilty but have also had a few sleepless nights lately so they may have been catching up with me.
Anyway, again thanks girls......hope everyone had a great weekend.
Tekah,
Good luck with this next cycle - wow back to back you go girl - only wish i could do the same as our SIVF satelite team only visit Coffs every 3 months so i have no choice.
Tekah there is a new thread for us older ladies - come and have a look - its in TTC buddies section - its a great thread as the girls are 35-mid 40's and they are just wonderful ladies - hope to see you over there. hun and hope some helps
