Hi, my name is Tracey and my partner and I have been trying for a baby for 2 years. October last year he finally agreed to have a sperm test done, and the results were bad. He had a very low count, and 98% defected. I was devastated, but the gyno said to wait until the next test before we panicked.
So, his latest test came back last week, and the count is still low but almost no defected sperm to be found. I guess thats a plus.
We have an appointment with a fertility clinic on 5th March, but I have no idea what is going to happen. I don't know the first thing about IVF or fertility treatments, all I know is that I want this baby more than anything in the world. I don't even know where to start looking for information, when I sit down and try I just find myself getting angry and frustrated every time.
So, I wanted to introduce myself here, and maybe I can find some answers finally so that I can be a little prepared for this appointment!
Welcome to BellyBelly.
I am sorry for the hurdle you and DH are having to go through to become parents. I don't have any information for you, but wanted to welcome you. I hope others have the information you need.
Best of luck with your TTC journey.
Hi pinkjellybeans,
Welcome to BB and I'm sorry you're having some hurdles in TTC. A good thread to join is 'Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception - January 2009'. This thread is for women (and men!) TTC for longer than 12 months, and the ladies there know a lot about assisted conception. Good luck, I hope you get all the information you need!

I am going to move your post to the Long Term TTC area as the ladies there will be able to provide you answers and any support you may need.
Best of luck with your FS.
It is always a shock to find out that something is making it harder for you to conceive. You are not alone and feel free to ask as many questions as you would like.
Welcome to bellybelly. So sorry to hear you are having trouble TTC. Assisted conception can be so confusing sometimes but please ask as many questions as you have on here. There are plenty of people around to help out. I have found this site a lifeline at times when I have had some difficult questions.
Sorry that you are having to deal with this, and hope your stay here is very short. It is my personal opinion that those women seeking fertility treatment where the failure to concieve has been from male factor infertility, that they seem to come and go much quicker. That is, once the male factor is overcome through IVF or similar, it seems they conceive more quickly ie first or second cycles, which kind of makes sense I guess. I hope this is the case for you.
I know it seems very overwhelming, I would recommend waiting until your FS appointment, they will go over your circumstance and provide some recommendations, along with brochures on the types of treatment available. Don't feel like you need to know everything at once. Some of us who have been here for a while do tones of research, but I have also meet online women who just rely on the nurses and the FS to tell them what is going on, what to do when, and they seem to do well doing it this way also.
I guess the longer it takes with AC, the more you will research, but again, I hope your stay in here is very short. Best of luck with your FS appointment.
