New to Site - Just wanted to say hi as today is my 2yrs Anni of TTC #1

I just wanted to finally say hi as I've been lurking for a little while and find this site great. Yes today is my 2yr anniversary of TTC#1 *sigh*. It took me awhile to stop being in denial after it hasn't happened for a while and now I'm seeing a fertility specialist and my only wish is to turn back the time and go to a FS earlier, but at least now I have some answers and can only move forward from here. I just wanted to wish everyone all the best .

The good news is...everyone on here understands. Generally there is at least one who will be able to empathise, give advice, and a cyber hug. Thanks for the welcome ladies. It's nice to know that there are actually people out there that can relate to the journey of TTC as tough and frustrating as it is. Wow, I can't believe you're both from Brissy, so am I. I too really hope that my journey will be short lived but unfortunately it seems that it will not be the case. I have to have a myomectomy first before I have any chance of conceiving according to the DRs. I was wondering, the dr hasn't said anything about doing a HSG, should I be asking about this as I've read a bit about this or would doing a laparoscopy (I have suspected endo) rule this out? Sorry if this is a silly question. I'm so confused with all this testing.

Welcome and good luck with your next steps! I can't answer all your questions, but I can tell you I had a laparoscopy was our next step after blood tests, establishing that I was ovulating regularly (through temperature charting) and checking there were no sperm issues. During the lap, I had patches of endo diathermised (burnt off) and tubal dye studies done. I think this is the same as an HSG except they check the flow of dye at the end of the fallopian tubes rather than doing an x-ray.

Hope that helps. I wish I could turn back time, too (I also waited 2 years before thinking, hey... ) but it might make you feel better to know every specialist I see tells me 30 to 35 is still a very good age group to conceive, with or without help Best of luck.

Calin, thanks for your info, I'm having a Lap, Dye and Hysteroscopy (not myomectomy - as a thought earlier) so just crossing my fingers and praying soooo hard that after the surgery it should happen. All blood tests and DH's S/A came back all good/normal (*phew* something less to worry about). Now is just waiting game all over again...

Calin - yeah when I finally went to the GP for referral to specialist, she actually told me that she is glad I didn't wait any longer and that I have years ahead of me. But when I went to FS he told me after two years the chances of conceiving are 2%!!! He certainly doesn't like to get peoples' hopes up! LOL.

Hi Bonny - FX for your first IVF/ICSI cycle! When are you getting it done? I totally know what you mean about stuff happening pretty quickly! It's good though at least these FS means business! I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I'm looking forward to my surgery (not that I wanted it in the first place) so that I can move forward with getting a BFP!?! The surgery will be my early xmas present (LOL). But only people in TTC land can understand this madness .

Hey - when are you getting it done? Am booked in for egg pick up tomorrow! Have got fingers and toes crossed that it all goes ok. I'm paranoid my FS will find that I've done something wrong with the meds and the eggs have popped out already!?!? Oh man, I've always got something to worry about! Hi Smiley Face! Thanks for your message. I had the egg transfer - only 1 made it to blastocyst - and only found out when we arrived at the hospital. So nervewracking! Am now in the middle of the horrible two week wait and not feeling overly optimistic... blaaaarrgghhh! Will do my test on Thurs and hope for the best. Hope everything's going great for you!
