tubal patency/ hycosy question and Clomid

    Hi,
    Totally newbie here but LTTC
I'm currently on a break from IVF and Dr. has recommended using Clomid in the interim. I asked Dr. for the test as I thought it would be pointless taking clomid if the tubes aren't open but she seems to think there's no need?
I'm in Melbourne and apparently it's not possible to do the test at present because one of the things they need, levovist? is out of supply and has been for some time. So now I can't get the test anyway. Should I start the Clomid regardless?

I agree with you. You can only take Clomid for up to 6 months. Why waste a cycle if you're going to ovulate and the egg can't get through a blocked tube? It's like treating a woman for infertility without a sperm analysis of her male partner/donor. A potentially huge waste of time, money and emotional and physical pain.

I'd either insist or get a 2nd opinion. I have no idea what's needed except I thought they pump the uterus with dye and see if it gets through the tubes. If that's short, then I'd wait until it's available.

If they can't do the hycosy, can they do a HSG instead? I've only had the HSG, not the hycosy.
