Flare cycle, gonal f & only 3 eggs :(

I'm so upset!

Apparently I was supposed to take the pill for 28 days but I took it for 21 days then started the synarel & gonal f etc. I was suppoed to be on the pill for an extra week because the day procedure centre is relocating this week and won't be open for surgery for 10 days. Apparently there was no plan b..

So then I went in for the scan yesterday and there's only 3 eggs

Even after being on 450ml of gonal f - the highest amount.

So I'm going ahead with the OPU on Monday and just got to pray that they get all 3 eggs

Just wanted to pop in and wish you luck with tomorrows pick up - i really hope that they get all three eggies and that they all fertilize well and then grow grow grow - and yes this IVF stuff if really hard - but hey if we don't try we never know right?
Personally for us we have no other choice but IVF just not possible to get pregnant without it so even though its hard it will be so worth it. Keep your chin up hun and i will say a little

for you as well.

Wishing you the best for tomorrow postive. we have had 4 eggs from 3 follicles sometimes they hide on the scan GL and thinking of you.

Hi Country Blue,

I can understand how frustrated and disappointed you must be - this IVF roller coaster is certainly hardto deal with at times.

I just wanted to say do not give up hope for this cycle.

We did a flare cylce last October,and I too only had 3 follicles after the stims,after being on the highest level of 450 for the puregon shots as well.

On pick up all 3 follicles had eggs which were mature enough to fertilise and be implanted.

We implanted 2 in October and I fell pregnant.However miscarriedat 7 weeks.

The 3rd emby which we froze, we used for a FET cycle this January and I am now 14 weeks pregnant.

So, I know its not easy,but dont get too hung up on the number of eggs, as long as they are a good quality is all that matters.

Just remember you only need 1 emby for a BFP.

C.B. I know some FS that have actually gone up to 650ml with their patients, so it's worthwhile pushing the point should you have to stim again.

Sounds like you need to discuss if the flare was actually effective or not.......maybe it was counter productive, which I know sounds weird as flares are meant to produce more eggs, but it sounds like it was working the other way around for you.

Thankyou so much everyone.

And guess what? They got FIVE eggs

One scientist told my husband they looked all good healthy eggs then the lady scientist said she was going to strip them today and hope they were mature enough to fertilize.

Very happy at this point and on to the next step - the phone call at 10:00 tomorrow :tremble:

The last egg got fertilized end last year but did not stick.

Well the verdict is...
I have 2 ISCI fertilized eggs!

They are going great guns at the moment and are where they should be so praying

they continue on as they should.

Transfer on Thursday, I'm having a double transfer due to my age.

farmgirl are you having a transfer tomorrow? Wishing you all the best also and maybe we'll both have babies for Christmas! I don't know, it's so hard not to get ahead of ourselves, my husband and I are discussing would we want to know the sex, will he take a month off work after the birth and all that is way way way ahead :/
