Hi, I have been put on progesterone pessaries for the first time this cycle. I was wondering if anyone else who has been on these can help me with a question or two. Firstly, if you arent pregnant, does your period start as usual or do you have to stop the pessaries? Also, I have had spotting again even though on pessaries, just not until cd26 where normally starts at cd23, so could this mean I need more progesterone.
Thanks,
Carys.

pessaries will delay AF at most, not stop it coming. And this is only true for some, not all, as my AF was not delayed by pessaries at all.
Sometimes you can give a little bit of spotting from the administration of the pessaries, but unless you have a Luteal Phase defect, or have a known issue with low progesterone, increasing your dosage now is unlikely to make much of a difference, especially as you're fairly far into your cycle. If you normally have a short Luteal Phase, though, then it may be that investigations into your progesterone levels may be a good idea.
Sushee,
My luteal phase length is ok, prob is with dropping progesterone in second half of luteal phase, therefore spotting for seven days leading up to AF. I called my FS today and he said that the pessaries shouldnt stop AF from showing up, so when it does, i'll stop them.
