BD before embryo transfer tomorrow- Yes or No??

Ok. My fs said nothing either way and there seems to be two schools of thought on the matter. Bd-ing the night before transfer..is it a no no? Or is it good for implantation?

    Urgent pre-bedtime replies most appreciated!!!

    Hi N2L
I see this is too late as you have your embies on board now. Just wanted to let you know that I have tried DTD and not and it didn't make a difference either way for me. Wishing you the best for a successful cycle xx

We BD'd a few hours after transfer on the recommendation from our FS and our baby girl is about to turn one from that IVF cycle.

    Good luck.

    NO! We didn't

DP chickened out! The FS who did my transfer (my regular FS is away) said not to BD for about a week post-transfer. Some websites (usually US ones) say not to BD until a foetal heartbeat has been detected. I guess what this all proves is IVF is not an exact science and a lot of guesswork is still involved.

Not sure how long I will wait......

They'll all tell you something different. Important thing is to just do what your own FS recommends.

I've never been down this road so not the most reliable source but on a multiple forum im on theres a mum who had IVF had 1 emby transfered and ended up with twins that are non identical (from 2 seperate eggs) so the only way that could have happened is concieving naturally at the same time as the IVF so I guess it doesn't hurt

    Hi,

    Here are my results:

    1st x ET: No DTD = BFN
    2nd x ET: No DTD = BFN
3rd x ET: DTD (night before) = BFP

Could just be a coincidence.... my nurse said nothing wrong with doing it and the place she last worked at recommended it Only risk as MrsS noted... multiples!

Hey N2L, I know this a bit late.......somewhere on the literature they give you when you do a cycle (might also be on the piece of paper prior or post transfer) it actually recommends DTD the night before the embie is put in. I've done it on both occasions when I had my transfers and I got my BFP for both transfers. Could be a coincidence but you never know! Hope this helps and all the best in your next cycle
