Sex drive and other side effects of clomid
I'm on day 3 of taking my first round of clomid and I don't have any issues whatsoever
But I'm wondering what you have had- my dr is worried about possible mood swings as I've just come off lovan.
Sex drive is one thing I'm interested in. Im forever on something that dampens it (or so it feels) is clomid likely to do the same???
Also I'd be interested I'm knowing what dose and how many bubs each has had on clomid. I know the twins rate is still quite low but it worries me - I had quite bad panic about 12 months after dd and although it was unrelated to her I always felt guilty about her being around me like that so the thought of twins makes me nervous.

I took Clomid well over 12 months ago and had: mood swings (I'd lose the plot screaming or crying over small, insignificant things), insomnia and night sweats but I had no weight gain (yay!). I think that was it?? My libido is low, or has been for a while due to LTTTC and Clomid made my vajayjay very dry, so I got some pre seed to help down there.
I was not successful on Clomid to fall pg and my dose was only 50mg but that small amount showed I was oing. HTH

How long after stopping clomid did the side effects pass may I ask? I've just read some horrible stories about panic and anxiety on clomid and I have a history - my dr didn't say anything about it but now I know why my psych is worried

Hi Mummyduck...
I definitely had mood swings around ovulation and lead-up to AF (which turned out to be BFP). It was like super-charged PMT. Not for the whole cycle though. RE: panic/anxiety, do understand where you're coming from. I don't know if this helps, but I suffer from anxiety attacks and didn't find that clomid increased them. The hormone increase and the way I felt during this was very different to the way I feel in the lead-up to an attack. I think reminding yourself that your body is a bit out of wack because you're on fertility drugs is a good thing to do. Whenever I felt on the edge I got the clomid packet out and went - ah, that's right. Also warned my DH that I wouldn't be myself, he helped keep me grounded. Am sure your psych will be there for support as well.
Sex drive went up! Which was welcome, as after 18 months of DTD on cue I was so over it. As ovulation got closer I was really in the mood, it was great.
Just one bub on the way, even though I popped two eggs. Most painful ovulation ever.
You may find that symptoms come later e.g. hot flashes didn't start for me until the week after I finished the pills. But hopefully you don't get anything at all - except a second pink line.

Thanks girls - so far no mood swings, anxiety up intermittently through the day but manageable (just butterflies in tummy during periods of the day but could just be means not clomid) libido OUT OF CONTROL!!! TMI alert - we did it 3 times the other day including at work- its insane!
I have got one more question. I'm taking it at night to avoid missing a dose and side effects like nausea headaches etc so I'm at cd 7, and tonight will be day 5 of clomid. I usually o very late - day 29 last cycle and I can tell- I have pains like my ovaries are going to explode and ewcm.
Being my first time on clomid I've been booked for a scan next Tuesday but I'm getting ewcm already- is this normal???? Maybe just the extra estrogen or something? Especially considering I've only just finished af it seems quite strange to me.

The niggles started early and I usually o cd 16 but had ewcm from cd 10 or 11. I ended up not even ov this month after all the pain pos opk and ewcm, so I now have no idea!!
Just keep up the bding is my advice and cross your fingers!!!

I hope you have more luck next month - are you likely to have your dose increased or trigger shots??

Minnie- yep prog was 5.6 or 5.4 or something... I am curious what happened to the follie as I saw it on the us. Wonder how common it is? Had pos opks and ewcm so it was all ready then just fizzled.... How are you anyway?? I need to update our list when I get home from work

joeve: maybe there follicle didn't have an egg inside it (that can happen with ivf maybe it can happen with a normal cycle too ?) or the other thing is you might have ovulated and caught the egg but because you don't have progesterone support you started bleeding before it could implant ?i haven't updated the list yet from my ivf appointment

Well cd 12 and it looks like 50mg hasn't made any difference. They are going to wait till cd 17 and see if there is any difference
Other then that I've been a bit short but starting to feel better now
Libido has dropped off but still better than before clomid.

This is my worst cycle yet and only my first on clomid.
CD 30 today and no o.
Just a quick clomid side effect question - back pain?!? I don't have my usual o pains but I'm have some seriously painful lower back aches could I be getting close to o?
Would be my luck too - I'm away this weekend
