Sperm freezing for IUI - dh away for work???

Hi,

just wondering if anyone has needed to do this? We're due to have are first iui next cycle (currently on cd13) I have my next FS appt on monday & Ill bring it up then, but im worried they might just want to put it off until the next cycle
We're with monash clayton. We had to wait just over 2 wks for an appt for dh's SA, so im a bit worried there may be a wait for this too.
We've just found out dh will be away for work from around cd5/6, his only in sydney so may be able to fly back for the iui day, but being able to freeze some before he leaves would be best
If we miss this next cycle, follow cycle 0 will be between xmas / new year so im worried we'll have to wait until next year

Anyone been in a similar situation & it work out okay?

Hi garfield,

I think it depends on ur particular circumstances. We have male factor infertility issues, so DH's sperm isn't great and our FS said that freezing it to use in an IVF/ISCI cycle wasn't an option as freezing does damage/reduce the sperm count (Like you DH was scheduled to be away for work on the important day). So you could do it if your DH has great sperm maybe....

Thanks, he had is SA this morning so fx all is good. The FS did think that is unlikely there is an issue, given DD & our pg earlier in the year, so fx its okay to freeze
