    Spotting - so confused!

    Hi ladies-
DH and I have been TTC #2. We have had two fresh IVF cycles this year (Pg#1 was BFP on IVF cycle 2), and my FS has me booked in for a laparoscapy in early August (I have had endo in the past, and he suspects it's back), then back into IVF in September. I have had mid-cycle spotting the last few days (sat night (day 22) - today (day 25)), but it's been quite light and fairly irregular (ie. only when I wipe, light pink, and only about 2-3 times a day). AF is not due till 30/7 (day 31), and on the weekend I had 'heavy', pre-AF symptoms, but they disappeared yesterday, even though spotting has continued on-and-off. I often spot one day before AF, but it's much heavier than this, and is consistent and only for a few hours or a day before AF flow. And AF never arrives early!

Can anyone help with what it could be? I didn't have implantation spotting with Pg#1, but that was an IVF pregnancy (and each is different anyway). We did DTD quit a bit around ovulation, but without TTC (I didn't realise it was around ovulation till DH mentioned it after I started spotting). How long does implantation spotting last? This seems long. But what else could cause it if I don't usually spot mid-cycle? Such an emotional roller coaster!

I'm thinking of giving it another day and calling my FS. What do you think?

    Thanks in advance!!

PS- I haven't been charting or taking OPKs, but if my cycle is accurate, spotting started in the evening of 5DPO.

PPS- I was also exhausted last week, and still tired altho' not as much this week. Also had heaps of headaches, and a sore throat off-an-on which I got with Pg#1 (but I also get a sore throat when I'm rundown!).

    Sorry for all the PSs!

Yeah, hard to tell what is going on when you are a LTTCer or need AC... I'd probably wait it out and see if 'proper' AF shows on the 30th. If not then I'd test next day using FMU. Best of luck

I got spotting at 7DPO with DS and 5DPO with this bub and it was indeed implantation. It was very light though - only a few tiny spots on TP which might have been missed had I not been looking I really hope this is also the case for you but as the other ladies have said, it's hard to judge as every person and every pregnancy is different

Thanks ladies. I don't really have my hopes up for a natural conception (of course it would be wonderful, but I can't think like that at the moment, given my history with conception). I just don't know what's going on, and no obvious other reasons came to mind. Blondie, our spotting sound very similar - mine was light, and could be missed too, and has only happened a few times over the last few days. It's definitely not AF, but at the same time I'm not convinced I'm PG either. If my fertility history was 'normal' I might be more excited/open to feeling 'this was it', but I know it's unreliable given my history. At least it's not as long as a regular 2WW!

Thanks for reading and taking the time to reply!! I feel a lot of support from BB!

Blondie - all the best to you!!
