Starting the process - would love your help! Just got results.

Hi All - a little bit about me first!

    Me: 30
    Him: 33

Female Factor: 'Assumed' PCOS - only symptoms are overweight (obese) and periods only every 6 months or so - so not ovulating. One blocked fallopian tube - one normal and fine!!

Male Factor: Great sperm count - very low motility

Hi all - after TTC for about 18 months my husband and i trundled off to the fantastic Fertility centre in Adelaide - REPROMED.

After many blood tests and a SA, internal ultrasound and then yesterday a HSG, we have found out the above issues we have between us! I am working very hard on losing weight but at the same time - am finding it hard not to lose hope! I just had a few questions if anyone could be so kind as to take the time to respond!!

    a. Has anyone else had experience of PCOS/1 blocked tube? How did you deal with this?
    b. Has anyone seen improvement in sperm quality after having their man take Menovit?
    c. Is there any hope that i may be able to fall pregnant - either naturally or via IVF?

I think at this stage i would like to try CLOMID for a while and if thats unsuccessfull, our FS has suggested ICSI.

Would love to hear from anyone with any tips to share or who may have had any experiences they are happy to tell.

Wishing you all the very best!

    Love,
    Kell

    Hi kellijh!

Ok, firstly the infertility rollercoaster is a sucky one and I am sorry that you have boarded it with sooo many of us! But that said, where theres a will theres a way and finding out what the issues are that might be slowing things up is a really great start! Please do not lose hope, its the only thing that keeps you going

    a. Not personally but I know there will be tons of ladies on here that can share that information and give their experiences.
    b. It may have been coincidence but DH started taking this a few months before our first BFP, not confirmed in a lab and there were no sperm issues for us but a little too conincidental to just ignore IMO.
    c. There is every chance that you could fall pregnant either naturally or through IVF. Nothing is 100% in assuring this though. We were on the IVF track for 5 years with no success and no answers as to why we couldnt get pregnant just the old 'unexplained' crapola. 5 years and no baby, time for a nervous breakdown and a rest and 12 months later I was pregnant...naturally. So hun, miracles do happen so please do not ever give up that hope that you hold. Sometimes our precious bubbas just need a little help in coming to us

Probably not a very helpful post but others will be able to share better experiences with similar trials to yours. I sincerely hope your TTC journey is over soon and you have that precious little creation

    a) I have 2 blocked tubes babe - very traumatic to hear that diagnosis. I also had severe endometriosis.
    b) DH had minor issues with sperm quality and after taking Menevit for 6 months our FS saw a vast improvement (but because the issues were mainly mine, he didn't give us numbers)
    c) There is always hope honey!! We needed IVF due to both of my tubes being blocked and our first cycle worked.

Wishing you all the very best.

    Hi
Anything is possible, that's for sure.
To be realistic though, if your doctor has suggested ICSI, that suggests that motility is very low, making natural conception fairly unlikely (not impossible!).
Clomid is relatively non-invasive, so starting there might be easier on you.

Sorry to see anyone have to go down this track, but I have POCS but no blocked tube, and DH had low motility. He took menivit and stopped alcohol and his motility doubled and we got our BFP, this was also after I lost 15kg. It is really hard not to be diisheartened by all this, but you will find this forum very helpful and supportive.

Sorry to be a fly in the ointment...My DP was on menevit until my FS said it was a waste of money....and that it made no difference to anyone.

    Who knows!!!????

I am a great believer in if you think it is working then it probably is

I'm interested to read that. Our Fertility Clinic actually sells it. Our FS told us that studies showed it could improved Sperm by 25%.
