    Supplements?

    Hi,
Hubby has just been diagnosed with low sperm count of 9000 and low motlity. He has had 2 x varicoceale operations.
Hubby is not one for taking meds or looking after his health (like most men). Is there a male fertlity supplement thats an all in one tablet like for women? Ive read numerous vitamins etc are good but just wondering if they have packaged them into one tablet for men?

    Hi Albi,

You can go for Menevit - the guys equivilent of Elevit - although it's quite exxy.

My DH has 90% abnormality a couple of weeks ago and I have started him on Blackmores Men's Performance Multi as well as the Bio ACE Excel...

I've heard lots of positive stories for both sides (Menevit vs plain MVs).. I think it's totally what you feel comfortable with. I went with Blackmores because I'm on the pre-conception vitamins... Elevit didn't agree with me and I feel more comfortable with Blackmores.

    Hope this helps

    I know what you mean!

Ha ha - I'm in the same boat. DH has very poor morphology and our FS said Menevit might help. But DH is not one for meds, doctors, tests, etc., which is why it took us 6 years to find out what our problem was. Luckily, the day I bought the Menevit was the same day I brought home all of my syringes, etc. for my shots. (I know, the Menevit won't help in time for this month's cycle, but assuming it takes us a few tries, it might help for the ones down the track.) DH was pretty shocked by how voluminous all of my boxes of stuff were ("you've turned into my little junkie!"), so it worked well when I said, "while I'm giving myself all of these shots everyday, YOU can simply take this little pill." He wasn't really in a position to argue, even though in the past he probably would have complained about having to take some gross pill.

It's kind of worked because he's been *pretty* good about taking his. Pretty much, if I'm there when he's getting ready in the morning and ask if he's taken his pill, he'll take it right away. I'm pretty sure he "forgets" the days when I don't mention it. And he has complained that he thinks the pill is giving him nightmares. But at least at this rate, I know he's taking it about half the time. I'm thinking that's the best I'll be able to hope for.

Men -- if we had to count on them to take responsibility for this procreation stuff, I think the human race would be on the road to extinciton!

LOL kitkat72 sounds like you have found the perfect way to get DH to take his pill
Im off to buy some menevit today and last night I brought up the scary subject of him stopping alcohol LOL he doesnt drink a lot but he likes a beer or 2 in the evening BUT if its affecting his swimmers then Ive asked him to cut it back to just weekends...didnt go down too badly lol
Im making him come to all our FS appointments and I said to him that cutting back on alcohol is a better option that forking out $5000 a go for IVF, so I think he has seen reason

DH took this too along with Royal jelly, CQ10, extra zinc (great for sperm) folate, and Vit C

I would put them all in a little plastic box for him to either take to work to have with lunch or to have with the evening meal.

men are terrible at taking tablets but i found if i had them ready for the day he would take them, he would never think to get them out himself, but if they were there, no problems

we got a BFP from that cycle and he was only on them for a month, no prior sperm issues though

We did have 15 cycles of IVF so i believe everything little thing helps

Doesnt blackmores conceive well already have vitamin C and zinc? Can you overdose yourself on these?
