Smile Delayed AF - but BFN???

Hi everyone - hoping someone can help.......

Is it normal to have delayed AF post failed OI and IUI cycle?

We did a down reg IUI cycle which ended with (BFN) and AF arrived on the 22nd Dec. I am still waiting for my next AF to start an IVF cycle but i'm now CD 44??????????
    1. I'm not prgnant as have neg HPT
    2. I have a history of irreg periods but at most 39 days, never had anything longer?

Just wondering if anyone has had the same? We will be doing our first antagonist IVF cycle commencing puregon CD2 so i'm waiting waiting!!!

    Hi Bella,

Not sure if I can help - just wanted to wish you good luck and hoping the delay AF means your are preggas!!! It is possible to be preg and give a neg HPT (those things are so unreliable it is not funny).

Have you started on any syranel? Cause this delayed AF for me by about 6 days.

    Sending you lots of luck

    Hi Bella,

Yes it can happen. Apparently the meds they give us can make our cycle go out of wack. I have very regular cycle 28-30 day but in my first IVF cycle, after BFN and AF, it took 46 days before another AF arrived. Dr thought I might be pg but BT confirmed no. Fortunately cycle went back to normal after that.

    Good luck

    Hi Bella,
I second Kahlan's comments, I have just had a BFN and AF from a stim cycle, I am day 21 today and have not yet O'd (I had a scan today showing the lead follie at 16mm so still about 4 or 5 days from Oing). I expect my cycle to be approx 39 days long, after my first two stim cycles my following natural cycles were 42 days and 44 days respectively. This happens with down reg cycles as they switch of the pituatry gland which makes your following cycle sometimes out of whack (but not all the time as my cycle in Nov following a stim cycle was only 33 days, so I guess you can get both).

Hope this makes sense. GL for your next cycle. xx

    Hi Bella55

Our ttc history is pretty much the same. I'm seeing fs on monday and we will be looking at ivf too.

anyway, my last iui was a down reg one and had to take syneral before my period. I was so late (39 days) - that is late for me! You are so right, it does mess with your head!

Who knows? you might be lucky!!!! fingers crossed
