    Thyroid Auto Antibodies

    Hi,

Was wondering if someone could help me. My FS did there usual blood works in February 2010 and this time there might be a problem with Thyroid.

The nurse told me I have to speak to DR regarding it but I would love a heads up on the situation before I go.

    Thyroid Auto Antibodies is 60.
The nurse said my FS doesn't treat it if its 60 and under.
But will treat it if its over 60 so I am boardline.
What is the normal range ??????

Does anyone out there have any information on it.

    Thank you

I can offer some info because I am being treated for this. For me, treatment is taking 75 micrograms of thyroxine each day (for the rest of my life!). The tablets are meant to be taken 1hr before eating so that's the hardest bit.

Sorry I don't have any info on the normal range - I don't even know my level.

My FS assures me that this is not enough of a problem to be causing my fertility issues but it is a nice thing to have under control.

I hope that is some reassurance.

Hi, I am not sure what my levels were but after DP and myself were TTC for 6 months our doc did some tests and my thyroid was broken - so to speak - Hashimotos Thyroiditis! Not sure if that is what you have but once my levels were regulated by 100mg of Thyroxine we fell pregnant the next month! Even though I have to take the meds for the rest of my life - there are worse things! Now pregnant my medication has been increased but I havent had any other problems.

I have thyroid antibodies / graves/ hashimotos not sure which it will be yet. We ttc for 4 years before seeking out Dr Sacks at IVF Australia. He is an reproductive immunologist and he did a blood test for Natrual Killer Cells in the uterus and found I had a high level. So in laymans terms I have other antibodies as well as thyroid. We finally fell after going on a regiment of clexane throughout my entire pregnancy starting from egg collection day. Also after lorissa was born I went on thyroxine cause my thyroid was overactive and then suddenly went under. It took us years to find a doctor that beleived that my thyroid had alot to do with it. So dont distress just find a FS who understands the nature of this as a cause of infertility. Alot of doctors dismissed it which was really frustrating. Goodluck and be proactive....
