    Journo seeks help

This post has been approved by Kelly.

    Hello,

I am a magazine journalist compiling a story on the extra challenges that people living in rural/regional areas face when they seek treatment for fertility related issues (eg, issues related to having to travel to seek treatment, extra costs etc)

I would love to have a chat (either over the phone or via email) with any members who are in this position. I would also like to talk to any 'graduates' who have concieved via IVF or any form of AI and live in rural/regional Australia.

I know it's a personal issue, so if you don't want your full name published, that would be okay and I am happy to let you see the story before it goes to print.

Anyway, I wish everyone luck and if you would like to have a chat, you can contact me on wilkie01@bigpond.net.au.

    All the best,
    Kate

I dont know if I qualify but I live 10 km from the nearest dr and about 50 km from the nearest place to get ultrasound ect ect... I would not really call us rural but!!!! I think you are wanting people who live like hr's from care correct??

    Hello
I used to have to travel 1 1/2 hours to get to see my Fertility Specialist (next town was 130km away). All ultrasounds and such were that distance as well. The only thing I could do in my town was blood tests. It was also nigh on impossible to see a GP because of the lack of doctors in the town. I now have moved back to the city and so am now appreciating being able to see my FS more than once a month. Do I qualify?

    Hi Kate

I live approximately 60 Kms away from my IVF clinic (Ballarat) and travel about 50 kms to get to work in Melbourne... both in complete opposite directions and I live smack bang in the middle. Very difficult when trying to juggle working full time with appointments/blood tests etc.

I would be happy to help out if this fits the criteria.
