Hi everyone,
This is my first post, but have been lurking for a while. my history is i have a ds Max who is 2, no probs conceiving, got lucky 1st month, this time have been trying 10 months, have LPD, chem preg in jan, clomid for 2 months, now on fsh injections with iui and pregnyl support. I am currently in my 2 ww following an iui, My blood test date is 24th, had 7 dpo bloods today and my levels were 168! way better than my measely 17 last month on clomid. My question is, can i get excited about these blood results? could this indicate 2 corpus luteums or are these levels quite normal for this treatment? feeling very tired at the mo, suppose that could be the high prog levels though, would love to hear your blood level experience on similar treatment. good luck and fingers crossed for all in the 2ww:pray:

Hi Fi and welcome to our little group. Hope you are surviving the dreaded TWW! You are pretty much at the same stage of the cycle as me, with my pg test on 23rd. I don't really know too much about progesterone levels and egg numbers, I do remember Nicole having a level of around 75 during her first iui and I may be wrong but she was told by the FS that she had probably ovulated more than 1 egg at the time. I am pretty sure Nicole can clarify if I am on or off the mark with this comment. I do know that just because you have a high progesterone level it cannot give an indication of a positive pg result. I would say the best thing to do if you want some concrete answers is to call the clinic nurses and have a chat to them. But good luck with everything, and I hope you continue to join us here in the IUI thread.
-
Hey Fi, welcome to BB :cheer: and our little IUI thread....
As Belinda said I had a high progesterone level of 78 on my first IUI cycle.
This was due to the amount of hormone in my body which would have meant that I ovulated more than one egg.
Unfortunately there is no way of knowing if you can be PG with a high level, but I agree that maybe you should ring the clinic and speak to one of the nurses.
Good luck and I hope the TWW goes really fast for you...the last week is a killer..so come in and have a chat...it helps the time go faster.
Belinda and Kaydee, how you ladies going? Not too long now!!
-
Welcome Fi. Hope you find BB helpful as you are going through your journey. Fingers crossed for you!
Belinda, glad you rang the clinic back and ended up with an appointment so you know what your plan will be. I think it allows us to feel like we are in a bit more control of what's happening if at least the "what if" action plans are in place.
I think the beginning of the end of my cycle is starting :( I have spotting... same thing happened on my first cycle (as it does every month before AF) spot for a week then she arrives... Can't give up yet but losing hope!
-
Kaydee, that AF buggers off for you!!
Keep positive mate...you never know it could turn out to be a little more than AF...
How are you feeling anyway?
-
Hey Belinda and Paula, just noticed that you are on-line also....how you ladies going?
-
Hi Girls,
Nicole, logged on, then went back to watch underbelly. I'm doing ok. Still cramping, and drinking heaps of dry ginger ale and lime cordial????? Having a better day mood wise though. Just can't stand this last week of waiting! How are you going? Doing lots of BDing I hope!!
Kaydee...:crossfingers:Af stays well away from you. As you know every cycle is different so maybe this is a positive sign for implantation. Don't let yourself read into it too much, nothing is over until it's officially over!!!!
-
Hey Belinda, never got into Underbelly...the sad truth is I'm waiting for McLeods Daughters to come back on...and yes very sad
As for the BD, not much as yet this month...I have been having headaches for the past couple of days , have the worst taste in my mouth and basically feel like crap!!
Other than that still feel really relaxed without the IUI pressure this month...there is allot to be said in having a mental break.
That last week of waiting is a killer...you just want to know either way so you can move forward...
My friend said to me that when she was pg with dd #2 lime cordial was the only thing to help her tummy..so maybe that could mean good news for you..
-
thanks for the reply and welcome, This wait is a nightmare, think i will be a nervous wreck this time next week! can't help feeling a wee bit more positive than normal but know I shouldn't as just building my self up possibly for a bigger let down. Oh well keeping myself busy to help keep my mind off it. Hopefully we will both have good news to share next week:pray:

Hi Nicole :p
Im good. This IVF cycle is doing my head in. Its like a 7-8 week cycle, maybe more. Because you have to take the pill for 21 days then wait for your period after you stop taking it then start the cycle with the puregon etc like the IUI cycle. I only stop the pill on 27 April. That feels like AGES away :wall:
Big big :hello: to everyone else. Im still reading and keeping myself updated on you all. Take care xxx
-
:hello: Paula glad to hear you are doing ok.
Tonight I watched a show on quints...holy crap imagine ending up with 5 little ones in one go!!
Anyway have still got a headache...actually had it all day :wall: So off to :asleep:
Sweet dreams Musketeers sending you all lots of :pink-babydust::bluedust:
Hope you are all tracking ok...yeahhh it's Friday tomorrow
-
Hey Nicole!
Your headache is probably from lack of drugs this cycle, hahaha!!! Get plenty of water into you. Was the show you watched the one where they lost 2 previous babies mid term? I can't remember the name of the couple but she had blonde hair. I watched it last night and absolutely bawled when the bubs where finally born. Imagine getting that big that your body starts to shut down on you!
Hope everyone is well. I'm doing ok, just really tired but having trouble sleeping. Just ready for this cycle to be done and a result known!
Kaydee...how are you holding up? Not long to go now. Still:pray:for AF to stay away!!!
Paula...it must be such a stressful time knowing that your cycle is so much longer than what you have previously experienced. Just a question though, why do you have to go on the pill? Is this because your AF is irregular, or is this just a part of the ivf cycle that everyone will go through?
-
Hey Belinda, that's them. The couples name is Pete and Jenny Ferrills who live in Illinois.
I only watched the first part where they had the babies, do you know when the second part is on when they take them home...might check the foxtel guide.
It was a beautiful story, I was thinking she was 30 as well the same as as me, how would you cope?
And yes I bawled plenty too. She did such a great job holding as long as she did.
As for not being on the drugs, maybe that is the cause of the headache, or maybe the metal break dosen't know what to do. Even so headache or not it is still nice to have a break.
Not too long for you now...other than tired how else are you feeling?
:hello: to everyone else, enjoy the last day before the weekend...yeahhhhhhhhhhh
-
Hi Belinda
Most woman that i have spoken to have taken the pill at the start of an IVF cycle so id say its common practice. Its meant to suppress the ovaries and the uterine lining (puts them to sleep). It also suppresses certain other hormones. HTH
 Is everyone else glad its FRIDAY!!!

Hey Ladies, how you all going?
It feels like every Sunday it rains in Sydney...but it's nice weather to stay in doors...
Belinda, OMG only 3 sleeps for you...how you feeling...the waiting game fun fun..NOT!!
Kaydee, how you going did AF stay away from you?
Fi, only 4 sleeps for you, must be great to have a 2 year old to run after...must help keep the time pass in the TWW.
As for me still enjoying the mental break even though my headache is still around off and on.
Not too sure if I will do another IUI next cycle, may have another month off...I guess when the time comes what feels right is what I will do.
Polly & Paula if you guys check in :hello:, hope you both are well.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday Ladies

Hi Ladies,
I am new to BB but like many of you we have been TTC for a few years, I have enjoyed reading your threads over the last few months and decided that it was time that I joined!!
I had my first IUI on the 8th April and am coming to the end of the TTW. I am booked in to have my blood test on the 22nd April but have been having cramps for the last week and lower back pain so I am not very positive but AF has not arrived yet.
I wanted to wish Belinda and Fi all the best for this week and hope that you both have some good news to share.
Enjoy your week :pink-babydust:
-
Hey Amy :welcome: to BB and to the IUI thread
I want to wish you all the best for your blood test on Tuesday and hope you get that BFP.
Is this #1 that you are DH are trying for?
-
HI Girls
I have come to a conclusion - I HATE PREGNYL!!!!!
I'm having cramps on and off, sore BBs and I tried to eat a vegemite sandwich today that tasted like chemicals??!!! But, due to the pregnyl injections can't take any of these as a sign of good things to come!
Nicole, I have been trying to keep my mind off things. The TWW has actually gone quicker this cycle than last, so much so DH had to remind me this evening that the test is in a few days!!! So, I will go and see FS on Tues PM to discuss options if this cycle is a dud, and then blood test on Wednesday morning at 7.45am. I am due for AF tomorrow, so we will see how that turns out.
Amy, welcome to our little group. We hope your visit here is short and you get the BFP this cycle! You are one day ahead of me and two before Fi, so hopefully we will all have some great news to share.
Fi, how are you doing? Not long now.
Kaydee..where are you lovely? I do hope all is well and AF has bypassed your door.
Paula and Polly...hello my loves. Hope you are both well.
-
Hi everyone... long time, no talk!!! We've been away for 4 days to the Gold Coast. Lovely to get away from routine but it rained the whole time we were there! Made me feel better to fly back in tonight and arrive back to rain in Sydney. Nothing worse than going away to crappy weather and leaving behind the good stuff! We had been talking to our 3 yr old about going to Seaworld for days leading up to the trip so we went anyway and just put up with wet butts everywhere we sat!
:welcome: to Amy. Hope your result this week is a positive one!
Hi Belinda. How are you going?? Not long now. Glad to read your TWW seems to have gone fairly quickly. Hope you've had a restful weekend.
Fi, hope you are doing well.
:hello: Paula, Nicole and Polly.
As for me and the wicked witch... medium bleeding Thurs, Fri. :( Late Fri. night had other AF symptoms which normally kick in and I know Day 1 of a new cycle is here. (I don't consider the spotting and light bleeding as the start of my cycle until I get these other symptoms and the heavier flow starts - sorry TMI) I rang the clinic from Gold Coast on Fri night and left a message. Nurse rang me back on Sat and I have an appt for Wed. (day 5) for U/S and BT and to pick up more meds for a new cycle. Anyways... fingers crossed this cycle can go ahead and there's no follicles left over from this last cycle. We'll have to wait and see what Wed. brings.:dunno:

Hi Girls,
Just dropping in for a visit to check on my lovely girls.Kaydee, bugger for af showing up at all let alone while you are on holidays.
Belinda:fingers crossed -not many sleeps to go.... C'mon pregnancy team.
-
Hey Kaydee, 4 days away....you guys must of had heaps of fun
Bugger on AF, she is a B***h!! But am glad to hear that you have a plan and  the next cycle will bring you that BFP
I hope you are ok, and know that your fellow musketeers are here for you :grouphug:
Belinda, glad to hear that the TWW has not been too hard on you.
Was DH sad and sorry about the Dragons this weekend...My DH went to a bucks night so I didn't get to hear him rant and rave on how crap his team is....
Nite ladies, sweet dreams :asleep:
-
Paula, I just noticed that you started sniffing today. Congratulations mate!!
I hope it's not too bad for you, but just think you are on your way now....sending you lots of :bluedust:
-
Thanks so much Nicole.. Yes it feels good to finally be working towards that end result
-
HI Ladies
Well, I am thinking this cycle will end in a BFN for me. I have started to get AF type cramps this afternoon (she is due today) but to date no spotting. Oh well, looks like it will be back to the drawing board!!!
Nicole, DH was a little upset but I was the tyrant this weekend. My team are crap and I'm not happy. Went to watch their pathetic performance at Parra Stadium on friday night and got drenched!
Kaydee, sorry to hear AF did arrive. Heres hoping this next cycle is your BFP!!!
Paula, yippeeee on the sniffing. I bet it feels like you are back in the game now. Hope the side effects are not too much!
Polly, I'm so glad everything is going well for you. I am hoping to join you in a few days, but not feeling too confident at this stage.
Amy and Fi, hope you are both holding up ok. I still have everything crossed for you both
-
Hang in there Belinda , Polly thought AF was on her way but ended up with a BFP.
-
Hi Ladies,
Thank you all so much for your warm welcome. Yes we are trying for bub #1....all of our friend's are onto bub #2 or 3 but I think that this experience will make us appreciate the precious gift and miracle of having a child.
We have everything crossed at the moment in the hope of a + result tomorrow....not sure that I can go through the process again but DH keeps reminding me that hopefully in 1 or 2 years time having to endure all of the drugs and appointments will be the last thing on our minds.
Still not very positive about tomorrow but AF has not shown as yet and the cramps seemed to have stopped.
Good luck girls!!!
-
Hi Girls,
This wait is a killer! Hang in there Belinda its not over until AF makes a visit, but I know how you feel, I'm also not feeling too confident now, I have cramps and just generally feel a monster period is on its way!Thursday seems a long way off, oh well going out Thursday night with friends so will be drowning my sorrows or having a very dry night and celebrating!
Good luck for tomorrow Amy, I have everything crossed for you!
sorry to hear AF showed up Kaydee, sending lots of baby dust for this month.
Hope your head aches have eased Nicole, and yes running around after Max definately helps take my mind off the 2ww for part of the day!
Fi x
-
Amy, wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Hope your blood test is a BFP!
-
Hey Amy, good luck with your blood test tomorrow
DH is right on the money!! When you are holding that little bundle of joy in your arms all of this will be a distant memory.
We are also trying for #1 and after 3 years and a MC, I surprise myself every day on how strong I am.
I too thought I wouldn't be able to another IUI after our first unsuccessful attempt, but somehow you find strength in yourself to move forward knowing that the end result is what you are working for.
I hope this is your one and only IUI that you have to endure, but if it's not we will all be here for you
Fi, only 3 sleeps for you...back away AF!!
Keep busy with little Max and the time will fly
-
Amy, good luck with your blood test tomorrow. I have everything crossed for you.
-
Well Ladies, looks like I'm out! Started spotting this afternoon.:( I am seeing the FS in about an hour to discuss where we go from here. I am sure he will advise to go ahead with the blood test tomorrow but I am sure it is a BFN.
Amy, any news yet???
-
Hey Belinda, hang in there mate ....back of AF you evil Witch!!
Good luck with the FS this arvo, let us know how you get on.
-
Hi Ladies,
Thank you for all of your support but unfortunately it was a BFN :(
DH is being extremely supportive and is very keen on trying again this month, but I am glad that I still have a few more days to decide as AF still hasnt shown.
Belinda and Fi I have everything crossed for you both :stickyvibesgirl:
-
Amy, sorry to hear this cycle hasn't worked. :( It's disappointing... Glad you have a few days up your sleeve to work out your next step.
Belinda, best of luck tomorrow with your blood test.:goodluck:
Paula, how are you going? Hope you are feeling ok... any side effects yet?
-
Oh Amy so sorry to hear about this cycle did not work out for you.
Take a few days and see how you feel, have you spoken to your FS about doing another cycle?
Belinda, how you going? Hope you had a good chat with your FS and good luck with your bloods tomorrow!!..
-
I'm so sorry Amy to hear your news, this ttc is such an emotional rollercoaster, good to hear DH is so supportive, hope he is giving you lots of cuddles tonight.
Belinda I am also sorry to hear AF may be on her way, hope appointment with FS went ok, I still have my fingers crossed for you, its not over till she fully visits. Are you still having bt tomorrow?

Hi Ladies
Well it looks like my IUI journey has ended. AF has arrived and after a lengthy talk with FS, we have decided to go to IVF. I did have my bloods done this afternoon but will still have to wait until tomorrow afternoon for the results. I am confident it will be a BFN.
Much to my delight I am starting the FSH injections on Friday, as I am a perfect candidate for an antagonist cycle of IVF. This means I don't have to go onto the pill first then start the sniffing and wait for the next period. So DH and I are very happy. All up it should only be 4 weeks in length. Quite scary to think it is the next step, but also very excited!!
Amy, so sorry to hear it was a BFN. There are a few of us here that have been in your situation and we know how hard it is. If you can, my advice is to jump straight back into the next cycle. We are all here if you need to vent.
Hope everyone is well and I will check in tomorrow once I have my results.
Sleep Well :asleep:
-
Hey Belinda, glad to hear you had a good chat with FS and that you will be starting with your back up plan!! Very exciting
What is the main reason to start on a antagonist cycle? I googled for a while and then got confussed.
-
Hi Nicole,
I'm not sure for everyone else, but FS said that due to the fact that I have responded well to the previous meds and both DH and I don't have any "obvious" reasons for the infertility they would go ahead with short cycle straight away. It kind of all became a blur to be truthful, as we had so much to consider and I just wanted to get to the final decision. Also the nurse tried to do my blood test before I went into see FS and after 3 attempts sent me to the waiting room to drink a litre of water. Needless to say all I could concentrate on during the talk with FS was my bladder screaming at me!!! He was happy with DH's sperm levels from the previous iuis, and did give us the option of another IUI with an increase in my puregon to try to get more than one follie, but left the final decision to us and was happy to go with either. The main thing that swayed DH and I was that currently with IUI we had a 10% chance of falling whereas that jumps to 50% with IVF.
