Hi Kristen160 - how are you? I've been completely AWOL lately, it's been a couple of weeks since my last visit! My 4th clomid cycle went belly up due to a cyst that appeared, and i was going to have the cyst 'burst', but in the end, changed my mind (the procedure did not sound like fun ..... involving a local anaesthetic near my cervix) and i've actually decided to see a naturopath, who will help my hormones to rebalance, after having all that clomid. Feeling good and positive about this change of mind, am also having acupuncture, which can help the cyst to drain away without the need of surgery. SO, i'm pretty much not TTC for the next 2 months, while my body rebalances!
Crossing my fingers for you that you have success this cycle! Take care :goodluck: ....i probably won't be around too much, now that i'm taking time out :D

Hi Ladies, hope it's ok if i join you in here.
Quick bit of info about myself. DH and i have been ttc for 18months. We have had 2 early losses in the last 6 months - all since starting fetility treatment. We have tried cycle tracking, had a Lap and i am now on my 4th cycle of clomid - currently in the tww but holding no expectations for this cycle. Dont ask why, i just dont feel optomistic atm.
Just got back from appoint with my FS as we were going to move onto IUI next cycle but after a lengthy discussion we have decided at this point to continue on our current path and wait it out since i have successfuly fallen pregnant on clomid and the odds are 86% my way on carrying the next pregnancy to full term.
I have been geting the usual side effects - headaches, major hot flushes, oh and did i mention that i feel like a fat, bloated cow? lol! I am moody and my poor DH doesnt know what to do - i think he just mainly tries to keep out of my way.
I hope to get to know you all a bit better :hello:

Hi all,
Tryinglikecrazy - Just thought I would let you know that after my first round of clomid I was shocked at how heavy it was. I had never had it that heavy before and it freaked me out a little. My second cycle was also heavy but my third a little lighter. So all in all I would say it is normal and just means theres lot of nutrients there for you know what when the time comes. Hope that helped
MrsB26 - Welcome and best of luck!!!
Theresep - Hi sorry to hear about the cyst but glad your in a good frame of mind. Well I'm on day CD14 today and waiting for O (Clomid doubled to 100mg to see what happens). Also have a minor case of thrush which I'm not to happy about :(. So this will be my last cycle on clomid before having a few months break and seeing if I start to O naturally. Feeling a little emotionally drained at the moment and the excitment of TTC has definately decreased over the months.
So my problem at the moment is that my DH is on a bucks night this weekend (same day/day before I usually O) so I'm really not happy about that due to the amount of alcohol they will consume. Is it reasonable for my to insist/demand that he not drink??? Is that possible on a bucks night......I'm guessing probably not. Any hints??? Theres never been an issue about going out and drinking etc...not that my DH is a big drinker but when the boys get together they have a fair few, but since ttc its just becoming a sore point.
ANyway best of luck
Kristen

Hi Everyone
Kristen160 - Cycle 5 has been missed by me due to spotting starting 2 weeks ago which I didn't think was AF, but 2 weeks later still bleeding. My FS has told me to take provera for the next 2 weeks to stop the bleeding and then will hopefully start a new cycle again at 25mg a week after I stop the meds. Fingers crossed something happens this time.
Tryinglikecrazy - I know what you go through with having heavy AF, after my 3rd cycle mine was so heavy I felt that I was losing sooooo much. I asked my FS why this happened and he said that generally when you O AF is heavier. The more follicles you have the heavier the bleed. Makes sense as that cycle I had 5 follicles (cycle was cancelled). So you might have had more than 1 follicle mature hence the heavy AF.
Good luck girls, I will be back in a few weeks when cycle 6 starts.

Hi Girls
Well Kim's scan on monday was good!! She has two big follicles and so we triggered monday night and will go for the IUI tomorrow morning at 7.30am!! We have learnt our lesson on driving ourselves mad with E2 levels and LH levels, so we just do what the doc says... I gather from the bloods there was no sign of a natural surge, hence triggering last night... Measurements of the follies were 16.9 and 16.5 so pretty much the same so we should be in with twice the chances this cycle!!!
Holly - keep those fingers and toes crossed for us!
theresep - glad to see you are so positive with seeing the natropath and the accupuncture, i loved the accupuncture during my cycles!!
Tryinglikecrazy - Sorry AF is being such a B**** to you. Kims AF is usually heavier after Clomid too, another wonderful side effect huh!
MrsB26 - Welcome to the gang, only pre-requisite is we want to know everything that happens in your knickers, ok maybe not everything, umm yeah close enough! What DPO are you up to?
Mel A - Any news after the dozen egg whites LOL!!
Kristen160 - i would let him go and let his hair down, its a pretty stressful business the TTC and it'll do him good to not have to think about it. The hubbies need a way to release their stress too...
KellyD - Crazy hormones huh? I took the provera once, it sorted my cycle out and stopped the spotting i had mid-cycle, just had to start again! I was waiting for an embryo transfer at the time, so it sucked ALOT!! Try not to stress too much, i know, easy to say...
Good Luck Girls!!!
I start a brand new job at 8.00 so hope the doc is ready to go!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Call me Kristy if you like - or MrsB, i dont really mind
Twomums Ha! that's ok, gotta laugh about the undies comment - sometimes i feel like a dirty old man i spend that much time poking around down there. I am happy to share lol. Currently 11dpo for me
Good luck with Kims IUI in the morning
Kristen Can you dtd before he goes out? If not i would just let him have a good time, try to think of all those babies conceived when both parties were drunk. My sister has 2 boys, both made that way so i wouldnt be too worried about one night
KellyD I hope the provera gets your cycles sorted out soon
Me nothing happening atm :D
Good luck to everyone

hey girls :)
Twomums: woohoo thats great news on the follicles.:dance: Let us know what happens !!!
Welcome Kristy..dont hesitate to ask any questions or just "vent", we are all here for eachother.
Tryinglikecrazy - sorry to hear about AF, but i always think of it as a good sign coz if u have AF u have obviously "o". So just think, it wont last forever, even tho it may seem like it. I really hope it gets better soon
Kristen - Yeah i agree with Megan, you should let ur man let his hair down. I know when TTC for so long they can get sick of hearing about all the bad news. Mayb just once let him out and relax. But mayb before he goes to remind him that way too much alcohol can lower is sperm count. I dont know if this was true but my gyno told me this when we were TTC which was only 8 weeks ago...
Keep strong all of you and take care..hope to hear some good news soon :) xox
-
Thanks girls for your replies....I'm going to take your advice and let my man let his hair down etc etc.... I think all these hormones/emotions make you get a bit crazy and irrationale at times. Anyway
Kellyd - Hope it all gets sorted so you can continue on this ttc journey.
Twomums - Fingers crossed for you :) good luck
Just a question? In all of my 4 cycles.....I have never got a positive from an ovulation test etc..... but occording to my temps rises I have been ovulating?
Is this normal, I have used a variety of brands etc with the same result.
Has anyone else come across this...... the day I see a positive on anything I'll be doing the happy dance.
Stay strong everyone. I really appreciate the support of this forum and its beautiful members. Just thought I would all let you know.

hey,
Kristen - If you are on clomid, it is not the best idea to do ovulation tests. The clomid can interfere with the results. When i took clomid i did the opk's and they all said i never "o" but now im preggas. The best way to find out is a blood test. (this isnt my personal opinion, its what my gyno told me). i did a blood tests and it came back i did ovulate..go figure. But as i said clomid does interfere with opk's but not pregnancy tests. Hope this helped a little :)

Hi everyone,
In need of a little advise. This cycle my clomid was increased to 100mg (I did ovulate on 50mg but FS decided to give 100mg a go??) and with the previous cycles I had fertile cervical mucus present but this cycle none!!! I know this may be a symptom of the clomid but I'm nearly at O time and still no fluid down there...very dry. Is there anything that can help with that and if theres no fertile mucus is conception even possible???
Very confusing.

Went to see my OB yesterday.
He gave me 1 pescrption for Primulot (to be used if AF doesn't turn up in next 45 days)
1 pescription, with 5 repeats for clomid (7 cycles worth) I'm on 100mg.
and 7, day 21 blood test referals.
He then said I could book in to see him in 7 months. Or I could be all optimistic and not book because I'd have to book in eairler when I get a BFP. (well he didn't say BFP but you get the drift)
So I'm crossing fingers for AF to turn up in the next 2-3 weeks, then we can start all over again.
Hi Kirsten160,
Even if you have no CM, comming out, If you ovulate your cervix will be secreting something even if it is only a little bit. It is harder to concieve without the CM, so give the swimmers a helping hand and use a sperm friendly lubricant, that will help with transfer and hopefuly get them close enough to be sucked in by the natural stuff.
I found that my first cycle on 100mg, was a fairly dry one, and after that everything went back into egg white mode.
cheers all
-
hey mel.
thats exactally what the doctor did to me..brought on my AF with meds and then clomid then bt etc. and now look.. :) good luck!!!
-
Congratulations Holly, I'm crossing everthing that all goes well.
for those wondering, still no movement on the 12 egg whites. I think I might do HPT before I take the Primulot just to be sure.. Thats if AF doesn't turn up.
My body feels pretty normal, but then It felt normal through all ten of the previous BFP weeks. so who can be sure.
xxx

Mel: Praying for a BFP for you!!!!
Twomums: sounds positive!!! So as im a newy to iui, will they just inject sperm into her?? sorry if that sounded rude but im very curious!!
Kristen: hehe its weird writing that as it my name too!!!! but everyone calls me Krissy. Good luck with the 100mg!! i agreee go and get some sperm friendly lube just to be safe!!
Kristy: hope your well!!!
OK now for the news...went to FS on wenesday, DH results r worse and are chances of falling r low, cause me not Oing isnt enough!!!! He said we should up our health cover asap to cover IVF as we will need it :crying: Im so scarred nervous!!!! WE will continue on with the clomid, we r only allowed to use it for 6 cycles so we r going to try to fall ouselves for the next year and if still no bub then we will go with IVF....:crying:

Tryinglikecrazy, they insert a speculum, and they put a tiny cathether on the end of a syringe and suck up the washed sperm from the vial once it defrosts, and then they insert the tiny cathether into her cervix and push it right up into the uterus and squirt the sperm into the uterine cavity, so more or less the sperm is already travelling into the fallopian tubes before she even gets off the table...
So i guess they just squirt the sperm into her yeah LOL.... 2 days past IUI today....and counting....
-
I hope everyone is travelling well
AF turned up for me on saturday - right on cue for my best friends baby shower which i was having trouble coping with anyway let alone with HER lurking in my pants, grrrr
FS has advised that this cycle i take the clomid from cd2 - cd6 instead of the ususal for me cd5 - cd9.
He didnt really explain why except to say that it may give me a better chance of concieving and it was worth a try. Anyway, i should have asked more questions about it but i was more concerned with the chromasonal testing we are having atm to worry about it - so i want to ask you guys if you know the difference between taking it earlier in your cycle or later or does it even make a difference???
