Using an old clomid script with no monitoring?

    Hi Ladies,
Sorry I haven’t posted for a while. DH and I have been going through some serious personal issues. Anyway, I am considering trying clomid again. I still have a script and am planning on taking it for 1-2 cycles. However, I will not be seeing the FS nor having CD21 progesterone tests. Last time I took clomid was over a year ago and I ovulated on every cycle, painful ovulation for the first cycle, but it was pretty smooth sailing from then on. I actually conceived on my second natural cycle after finishing clomid, but unfortunately I M/C. I don’t have any other fertility issues other than lack of ovulation (pcos) I am desperate. Has anyone tried this? I understand what OHSS is and I would be seeking help if I am suspicious this is occurring. Is it dangerous to use clomid unsupervised?

    What do you think?

What dose do you want to take, and last time you did it, did you get a follie count or just a p4 test? I have done it unmonitored on an old script.

I was only on 50mg Maruschke. And I only had a day21 progesterone BT, thats it. No scans and through a OB/GYN. So it would basically be the same, but without the BT to confirm what i already knew.

I did when I fell with DD. I was getting sick of daily bts and things. If you feel comfortable on it and want to, then why not?

If you've had hyperstimulation in the past cycles, id prob then say no.

Thanks LysnDan, maybe just a couple of cycles then. May run it past my GP and see what she reckons too I probably wont ovulate for months anyway so will have to wait till next cycle anyway.

Why don't you talk to her and get a script for that drug (that I can't remember the name of, doh!) that will restart your cycle?

    Hey Tasha,

When i went to see my FS, she also gave me 2 scripts for clomid and only my first cycle was monitored (21 day blood). The other 3 cycles were not monitored.

    Wishing you the best

If your script is more than 12 months old, the I don't think a pharmacist will fill it.

Tasha, - my gyno(fill in guy) gave me a script for 5 months of clomid and wasn't going to monitor me, but we ended going down the FSpath before i started it, but am just saying it obviously can be done unmonitored!

I think my script might be just over 12 months, they can only say no I guess.

If my script is too old then I will have to go back to the FS anyway
