    Wink QFG

    Hi,

We are currently having treatment at Queensland fertility Group. Our IUI's were around $700 out of pocket.

I am seeing Dr Yazdani there, and he is fantastic. Very understanding and supportive. He really takes the time to listen.

IUI hasn't worked for us unfortunately and we are about to start our first IVF cycle at the clinic.

    Good luck!

Hi rach82 we to have just been told it will be ivf for us now as well, a lot more money out of pocket that's for sure. I am a bit scared of all the stuff you have to go through under ivf but if it works it will be worth it. We are waiting to start ours until next year as we are getting married in November.
Good luck with your ivf :-)

    Hi kerbear!
I am also very scared about what IVF will entail. Whilst it is a lot financially, and I'm sure going to be far more draining physically and emotionally, I'm prepared to go through just about anything at this stage!

Good luck for your wedding in November, and I hope everything goes well for you! Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!!!

Thanks I am like you will try anything my fiancé said we have to cap how much we spend at some point which I do agree with and that I may have to one day accept that I may not be able to have a baby. I am not ready to accept that yet though, it's to hard. I still cross my fingers and toes it will happen naturally. Good luck sending baby wishes your way.

This IUI was only $115 out of pocket for us. It was $685 all up (excluding the clomid and acupuncture and the concoction of multivitamins we take), and I got $570 back from Medicare (we have reached the limit). I was told to expect $500 back if I haven't reached the limit. We are with QGF, very cheap I think.

I work at greenslopes private as an RN and Dr clare Boothroyd (who does her procedures at Greenslopes) is wonderful, she is only 1 of 2 doctors in the country to hold a certain certificate in fertility treatment, I was booked into see her but fell naturally, her waiting list is longer than most but worth it, she does her clinics through monash and greenslopes specialist clinics. google her and you will see more. best of luck!
