so i will see if i can do what you done with your cycle, start big and slow it down once we get a response.

at least then we know we are getting something rather then nothing like what just happend.

so does this type of cycle have a name or do i just explain it to him?? lol

M2C - My last one in Jan I was on 150iu of puregon for 9 days and then the trigger. I had 12 follies and 12 eggs with 10 fertilising. We lost many the next day ended up with 3 great ones...

This cycle I am on the same dosage hoping for similar egg numbers. Hopefully we won't loose as many this time - DH has been on Menevit it will be interesting to look at numbers (as our issue is swimmers!)

Goodluck with your next cycle hun..

I believe it is referred to as a step down cycle. However, it didn't turn out too good for me - the one where we did it the traditional way, I landed in hospital for a week after EPU and was off work for a month...

The one cycle where we avoided OHSS was the one where we started at 200IU and dropped slower, keeping a VERY careful eye on things - daily blood tests from day 5, which got VERY draining. But what I think the key difference was - following an extremely strict low-carb, low-GI diet for the duration of the cycle, from about a week or so before we even started down reging. I had one blip in my E2 levels towards the end of the stim phase, and it matched exactly with the day I thought "stuff it!" and had a burger and chips for lunch. Considering I was on daily blood tests at that point in time, it was pretty obvious.

Sorry just a quick question i know this is off the topic of this thread but feel more comfortable asking it in here then in the tww thread.

I had my trigger shot tuesday morning ( 5000iu pregnyl) just wondering when do you think i will ovulate?? would it be yesterday, today, tomorrow?? just that i have NO signs at all of O coming?? i have super sore nipples today but other then that nothing?? how do i know if i am going to ovulate?? i am not sore and i dont have ewcm?? would i still get all of my usual signs that O is coming even though i have had pregnyl??

this was my problem with all of my iui's i had no signs of o'ing with pregnyl but yet clomid on its on every now and then i would get ewcm so i knew something was happening.

so what do i do?? do i just trust and hope that the pregnyl ( which is the biggest dose i have had, usually 1500iu) is doing or has done its job and i have o'ed or do i just keep checking and see if i get any signs?? and if i dont O what happends to the 2 follies where do they go?? lol do they sit there or do they disappear or do they turn into cysts?? probably silly question sorry but had to ask

They time egg collections for IVF at 36-38 hours - just before ovulation happens by itself. So it will definitely be more than 36 hours after the trigger, and I think from a bit of similar research conducted with BG a while ago, no more than 40 hours after trigger.

I'm not sure what happens to follies if you don't ovulate - I guess they could become cysts, or they could just get reabsorbed.

And M2C - it's no problem at all! I'm a teacher at heart (and by profession!) and I just love educating people about this stuff... just be thankful I'm taking a little break from the maths at the moment!

I was on 100iu for 10 days. 20 follicles were seen on my last scan, 12 eggs were collected, 8 fertilised, 1 transferred and 7 frozen at 3 day x 4 cells. Ended with a BFN. Did a FET next, lost one in the thaw, defrosted another one that divided to 6 cells by transfer and got our BFP!

I have PCOS also, so my FS always errs on the side of caution with lower doses with me and then lifts them if need be. I went through 6 months of OI on Puregon prior to IVF, so FS had a pretty good idea of how I reacted to the drugs, although with PCOS, your ovaries have a mind of their own!

    All the best of luck.
