Canberra FC vs SIVF

Hi everyone

It looks like we are about to move to Canberra next month and would like to know of your experiences with CFC and SIVF. From what I can get off the net, CFC seems to be the bigger of the two with about 80% of the patients.

I would appreciate it if anyone could recommend an FS to me and let me know of their experiences. Thanks very much in advance for your comments.

I am seeing Dr Nicole Sides who I think operates out of SIVF - at least that is where she does the IVF. I have been really impressed with her, she is very commonsense and practical which is great for DH and I. We haven't got to the IVF stage but I can recommend her as a specialist. I also know of people who have had great IVF results with Dr Armellan in Canberra. Not sure where he works out of but a web search should turn him up.

Hi Chez,

I currently see Dr Steve Robson who is attached to the Canberra Fertility Centre. I've had one appointment with him and was very impressed after dealing with a few others in Canberra. I couldn't find much on the web about him however the centre had a flyer with his info on it. It provides his back ground, but it also states 'Steve's special interet is in male infertility, in particular surgical retrieval of sperm from the epididymus and seminiferous tubules.'

He was really easy to talk to and showed an interest in DH and I as people, not just another person through the door (which I've experienced in the past). When we were discussing age he told us in he is 44 and has a two year old. I liked this fact but that's just me.

Dr Armellan is also is with CFC and I have heard good things of him but have no personal experience.

Thanks very much for sharing your experiences. I totally agree that I want someone who will treat us people not just 'another' patient. I will look into each of the doctors you have recommended and see what I can find out. CeCe, I too like the sound of 44yr old having a 2yr old... I don't want an age-ist. I honestly didn't see myself at 40 still TTC but there you go, here I am and I don't have a time machine.... so the rest is up to medical science, me and fate!

i am really happy with Nicole Sides at SIVF. i had a brief interlude with CFC but SIVF has worked out best for me.
