Maternity payment

Can anyone tell me how much the government pays new Mums now? (maternity allowance/payment). Just wondering if it is $3000 or $4000.

From july this year they start to pay $4000, so at the moment its only $3000 still.

I thought is already was $4000. When i was last talking to Centerlink about family assistance, i asked out of curiousity how much will it go up in July and he said it would be in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), so it may not be a whole $1000 increase.

Yes it definitely goes up to $4000 from the 1st of July. I will be making sure baby doesn't come early as I am due on the 14th of July

Thanks for that! My baby is due April...so it will be around $3000. Ahh well that's cool, better than nothing hehe.
