I am in IT/SAP logistics/warehousing
An unplanned night in Sydney for me, amused front desk as checked out this morning but at about 11 was decided will be needed again tomorrow so back at hotel this evening - got a room on different floor this time. But my colleague went home so in room dining tonight.
Poor DD was looking forward to me being back apparently but has been placated with photos of me in a high vis vest and of boxes in the warehouse, DS no concept of time yet really so provided he sees the video of stream train I took on weekend 20 times a day he is happy. DH had been working late in workshops all this week too, so lots of bonding with the grandparents for the nippers this week.
What a shame you are stuck another night Wsyiwig.
It's interesting seeing what industries we are all from.
Well job interview done and they talked about coming in for a second interview so sounds good :)
I think I'm going to have to call in sick tomorrow. All those pressing deadlines and rounds of antibs have knocked my body sideways, and I'm not doing so well today.
Ironically, I think I'm going to have to be sick tomorrow and Wednesday, but not tuesday, because I have an important marketing function.
Silly me for not scheduling my illnesses better.
Sorry your not feeling well Peanutter.
Is it really Sunday night already? My house is a shambles and I am already tired :(
Wah why does money come around so soon.
I'm having a dilemma about having #2
Hope sick people feeling better, interview processes going well and thoughts about #2 good.
Away again next week Mon to Thur - prob second to last trip on this contract I reckon. DS 2nd birthday is Wed so we are switching it to Sunday at least you can do this with 2 year olds.
Had a few phone calls this week about new contracts ( they all record when you are due to finish) but nothing promising they all want full time :-( Maybe when DH contract finishes in 2015 maybe we can switch - if anyone wants me by then.
Decided #2 is happening scored free Amby hammock yay
WYS- how good is it that they don't understand days yet:)
BD - yay for number 2, we are TTC number 2 as well, I haven't managed to join the ttc group though - moved so fast to keep up with
Bubba t noone actually posts in there anyway lol
Hi all, I guess I should pop my head in here :( as I am into my second week back at work. Please tell me it gets easier.
WWYD, days into your return to work and your baby has an urgent paed appointment? Miss G is teething and has horrific, peeling spreading eczema and nasty nappy rash as a result. She is mostly happy but it needs to be dealt with ASAP. Go to work as per usual and meet DH with her for appointment (I work in the same building as paed) or take the day off even though I've only just started back? If she was miserable, there would be no question on what to do but I feel so guilty even contemplating going to work when her rash is so bad.
I would go to work - and if necessary duck out for the appointment, or just let your DH handle it. When I was full-time and DH part-time had to get used to him just taking care of things - it is hard at first but it is also good for DH and kids to do all sorts of things together. Remember that your DD is not thinking "I have nappy rash and mum has deserted me" that is an adult take on things. I tend to only take days off when absolutely necessary because you never know when something will come up that is a necessity and don't want to be feeling like 'wasted' days off when didn't need to IYKWIM. I hope her rash gets sorted.
I'd just duck out for the appointment too, unless that would get them worked up, and it would be upsetting for them when I went back to work. If that might happen, I actually wouldn't go, I'd just check in with DH after the appointment.
It can be hard to do the transition back to work (both for you and hubby and bubs) so I found a clean break with defined lines to be good.
But it really depends on what works best for your family - what is right for one might not be right for another.
Big hugs.
It does get easier.
Can I join in? I'm back to work in a few weeks. Feeling very conflicted about it :(
Hi there, MG! I've hardly seen you around lately :)
Good luck with the switch back - how many hours will you be doing?
