I got some out for dinner and now i really dont feel like it.
if it wasnt so late id crumb it.
kids want it with oven chips but i dunno.
i really want something different.
well i got some scotch fillet today and I am going to make a sort of beef wellington. I am going to brown the steak for a few minutes on either side, then I am going to saute some onion and mushies in some butter , then when thats done I am going to place the steak on some puff pastry with a topping of the mushroom onion mixture wrap it up in pastry and cook in the oven - not sure if that helps it probably doesnt, I dont see why you couldnt do that with rump though.
Hope you find something. you could make steak sangas with chips!!!!
Stirfry? Rump is a good cut for stirfry. Thai beef salad?
You could do a nice sauce with it, mushroom, white wine and garlic (gently fry sliced mushrooms, add garlic, reduce a splash of white wine, add pepper and a little bit of fresh thyme or a pinch of mixed herbs, pouring cream and simmer until reduced slightly. Is also nice with a bit of finely chopped parsley.).
Bit late now...but we had rump steak a few nights ago with diane sauce, with mashed potato & vegies was delicious! Hope your kiddies enjoy the stir fry
A really nice thing i do with rump is sprinkle dry onion soup on it.. not too much just enough to have a small layer across the top. Wrap in foil and place into the oven on 180 for 30 mins. Comes out so tender and so yummy. I usually serve with mash potato and greens. Yummmo!
