Ingredients


Olive Oil 1 tbsp
2 Onions Chopped
Freshly Crushed Garlic 1 tsp
Beef Mince 500 gm
Red Wine 1/2 cup
Pesto Sun-Dried Tomato 1/4 cup(s) (dolmios is best)
Italian Herbs 1 tsp
Rice 2 cup(s) Cooled
Parmesan Cheese 1/2 cup Grated
Mozzarella Cheese 1/2 cup Grated
Plain Flour (Sifted) 1/4 cup
Basil 1/4 tsp dry or pinch of fresh
Black Peppercorns Ground 1/4 tsp
1 Egg whole
Milk 1/4 cup
Breadcrumbs 1 1/2 cup
Olive Oil 1/4 cup For Frying

method


1. Heat olive oil in large frying pan.

2. Saute onions and Crushed Garlic until onion is tender.

3. Add mince and brown well, breaking up with a spoon as it cooks.

4. Stir in wine, DOLMIO Pesto with Sun Dried Tomatoes and Italian Herbs.

5. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thick

6. Allow to cool.

7. Add Rice and cheeses

8. Mix well.

9. Shape heaped tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls

10. Dust in flour (seasoned with Basil and Peppercorns), dip in combined egg and milk and coat in breadcrumbs.

11. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes

12. Cook in hot olive oil until golden all over (they may be deep-fried if preferred).


13. Drain on crumpled kitchen paper.
