    subchorionic hemorrhage with placental abruption

    Hi Everyone,

An ultrasound I had showed a small subchorionic hemorrgage/hematoma at 8 weeks. At 10 weeks I had a massive bleed and have had intermittent periods of bleeding since. Some days it is spotting, some days brown blood, some days bright red blood and have had 5 massive bleeds. I am now 18 weeks and have been monitored with ultrasounds since the discovery. Today the doctor said the placenta is starting to pull away and things do not look good, she said the subchorionic hemorrhage is 9 cm. She is sending me to another doctor who specializes in this condition who is in another city but until i see him/her I will be very concerned.

Any stories and/or medical advice is much appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Carrie

I don't really have too much of a story. Had a SCH with DD, where at 8 weeks I had blood gushing down my legs. I bled on and off for about 5 weeks all up and DD was perfectly fine (my SCH bled out where as most are reabsorbed by the body).

Sorry not too much help. Will be thinking of you and hoping that all goes well. xx

I had a SCH at 14 weeks that was 14cm long. I was put on 3 weeks bed rest, had numerous scans, but eventually it resolved

And as you can see from my sig I now have a healthy bay girl <3

My friend had a placenta abruption at 32weeks, and was put on bed rest, and her daughter is now 4 months old.

I hope this new dr can give you some advice and everything resolves for you!! <3

I didn't have a sch but I did have a placental abruption at 40+3. My baby girl is in heaven. I'm so glad they have picked it up and are monitoring you closely. It's very serious

Lucky it's been picked up early & you can be monitored. Heavy bleeding is very scary in pregnancy.
Take care, rest & if you ever have the feeling something isn't right act on it. X
