Sorry I can't really offer any advice but this is my third pregnancy and I have never tested positive for antibodies. I am O neg. I just had my 34 week blood test and have tested positive but it is less than 1 (I've forgotten the name but 1 something) so OB says I'll be fine until I deliver in 2 weeks 6 days. The anti-d injections don't always work so my 28 week one must not of worked properly.

    Are you seeing an OB?

hi there thanks for replying. yes im going public but i see the drs instead of midwives as im high risk for other reasons aswell.
i have been referred to a maternal fetal specialist in liverpool (im from southern highlands nsw) to have an u/s with them next thursday. they will try to see wat bubs MCA levels are. these indicate aneamia.
my levels are titre 1:256 and my quantitive is 12.3 already placing me in the moderate risk catergory, these levels can change too. ive had bloods done again on wed and waiting on those results.

    anti-d antibodies

I just found out from a call from my doc. office a bit ago that I tested positive for the anti-d antibodies. My hubby ad I have been TTC for 15 months now, with 2 losses, the first being ectopic, and the second being a miscarriage a couple weeks ago. I have tried to find info online about whether or not I can still even have kidssince I am positive for the anti-d antibodies, but have not found any info yet and am starting to freak out. Just wondering if yous know i it is possible to stil have healthy kids when you have this antibody in you already, or if getting pregnant again will just result in moss losses or a extremely sick baby if it was actually carried to term? I have read stuff before that once sensitized to the antibodies that if yo do atually carry a baby to term, it il die very soon afterwards. I am so scared and worried. Does anone have any info on this?

hi no its not true that all babies will die. altho the chance of miscarriage is raised there is def the possibility to have a healthy baby. i had my son whilst having antibodies and he was born term but with severe jaundice. he just required photo therapy for a few days n is now a healthy 9mth old.

there is not much info out there.i have been lucky and found a lady that has had several babies with antibodies. she has like 7 kids so it can be done.

if ur concerned ask ur dr to test ur husbands phenotype and this will give u an indication as to whether u can have a ngeative blood type baby. if bubs is negative then the antibodies dont affect them. if u want more info let me know

I was just about to start a thread on the same thing, after 2 miscarriages and Isabel (stillborn) Iwas referred to a fertility specialist and the specialist found anti-d antibodies. I to have been freaking out about what this means and whether I will ever be able to have a living family.

So I was wondering if anyone has any new information, it's going to be 3wks before I can see the specialist to properly discuss this, so any info in the mean time would be great.

    hi there

so sorry to hear of ur losses. i have at anti-d antibodies for my sons pregnancy and this one too. my son was positive blood group and all he required was phototherapy after birth. it is possible to have a healthy living family. i am 20wks with my 2nd affected pregnancy and things are lokoing ok still. if ur drs ahve opicked it up thats good as they can monitor and intervene if necessary. blood transfusions are the norm if bub becomes aneamic as too much strain on bubs heart can cause heart failure. any thing in particular u would like to know?
