I've just come back from taking my DS to the GP for a check up and was surprised when he was more concerned about the rash i have on my chest and upper back. I thought it was just a hormone related rash as i had a similar thing when pregnant with my DS but my GP said i have folliculitis (a bacterial skin infection) I didnt think it was that serious so didnt really ask any questions about it just took the script for oral antibiotics (Ibilex) and made an appointment to see him next week if the infection hadnt cleared. I'm worried now though after reading up on the condition (its caused by the staphlococcus bug) as im worried about what effects this can have on my bub. Theres a possibility that this bub could be born early (ive already had 6 admissions to hospital with pre term labour symptoms) and dont know if bub can catch it from me or if it will cause problems with breastfeeding as i will be more susceptible to mastitis. Just wondering if anyone else has had this condition or knows anything about it. I will be seeing a midwife at the hospital tomorrow for Anti-D injection so will be sure to ask her advice.
