    HPV risks???

    Hi

I have a couple of questions about HPV.

Are there any risks involved with having it during a vaginal delivery ie, can the baby catch it while being born??

Will a low risk hospital not take me because i have it??

Any information anyone has would be great

    TIA

    Hi Lea
I don’t know all that much about this subject but I will tell you what I know.
There are quite a number of different forms of HPV and, from memory, only a few can be passed on to the baby. The chance of passing HPV on to your baby is low. There is an increase in the risk of passing it to your baby if you actually have warts on or in your vagina at the time you give birth. I think the main concern if the baby gets HPV is the possibility of warts growing in the throat and narrowing the airway. Sorry but that’s about all I can tell you.

    Thanks again
