    Infection on Knee?? HELP!!!!!

    Hi Guys

I fell over last Thursday onto a bitumen road and skinned my knee. It was nasty but I had pants on and they didn't rip but when I looked, it was bleeding.

It's now trying to form a scab however, it's very red all around the scab and sore (although it's getting better slowly). Sometimes it throbbs when I stand up straight but this doesn't last long.

I'm so worried it will effect my baby! I am 18 weeks pregnant. Does anyone know if the baby can be affected?

I have a doctor's appointment today to check on it but as you can possibly understand, I'm so scared.

    Your help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Bindy, I'm glad you saw the dr cos it sounds like you really did need antibiotics, but I'm sure this will have absolutely no effect on bubs at all. Use it as a nice excuse to put your feet up and have DP wait hand and foot on you for a few days...!

Its very unlikely it would effect bub... apparently not a lot can pass through to them once ur post 12 weeks. Especially if its only a local infection. It's still good to get it checked out though... sores hurt and I guess it eases your worry knowing that its been looked at.
