    Type 2 diabetes

    Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Kylie, and I am new to belly belly, I have had fun reading some of your posts, aswell as some laughter and tears.

We have recently just found out that we are pregnant, 10 weeks + 1 day today (woohoo), very exciting and very scary as my las pregnancy was 12 years ago.

I also have Type 2 Diabetes, I am on tablets + insulin - I have Protophane 100 units at night with 4 Diabex, and at lunchtime, my Doctor has put me on Actrapid. I had to come off my other tablets, Diamicron & Monoplus, she said they were "PREGNANCY FRIENDLY".

I am also testing 6 times a day, my fingers are so sore

I was also wondering if anyone out there would know of Diabetic Friendly food, I am getting sick of eating salads, although I do like them, but a change would be nice.

I think I am also lucky as I havent suffered with any morning sickness with this one, but one thing is, that I have the sorest nipples.... I dont remember them being this sore with my son....

Welcome to BB! And congrats on your bub! I'm not diabetic (just insulin-resistant), and I'm not pg, but what about toasted wholemeal sandwiches - not to carb loaded, and because you're toasting it yourself you can have chicken etc, without worrying about germies!
