Pelvic instability - did you find shorts/support belts helpful?

Owwww pelvis pain has arrived in full force and I'm really struggling. I have a wet-suit fabric belt that I actually bought for lower back support which sort of helps but is the ugliest thing in the world so I can't wear it to work. I also find tubigrip helps if I can get it to stay in place but it gradually rolls up as I walk.

Physio suggested SRC recovery shorts but faaar out, at $180 they'd better have curative powers and make me a latte at the same time!

Curious as to what people have used and found helpful?

I wore the SRC shorts and they were worth every single cent! I have had PI/SPD with all three of my pg's but the shorts were only available when I was pg with my third. I credit them with keeping me walking... well, shuffling at least! You don't realise how much relief they give you until you take them off for a while and feel a huge increase in pain. I wore mine 23 hours a day, an hour off to wash and dry them!

Yep, I wore the recovery shorts as well! They were very good, offered similar pelvic support, good support in my sore undercarriage and I reckon they helped my jelly belly reduce a little faster. They just made me feel nicely 'pulled in'. I reckon they'd be great for abdominal separation. The only negative is that they were a pain in the proverbial to get up and down to go to the loo. They are supposed to be very firm and they are cut very high (come to just under your boobs) and I found myself 'hanging on' rather than going to the toilet as wrestling them up and down was a PITA!!

I have both the SRC pregnancy and recovery shorts. Well worth the money. SPD is back with a vengeance
