not really sure what I want the outcome of this post to be.....
After a bleed yesterday I ended up in maternity last night and was diagnosed with a partial placental abruption. I am on strict bedrest for at least the next week (and bored out of my brain already) and have a followup scan an doctor's appointment on Thursday.
I'm more than somewhat frightened at this diagnosis, as past experience with the condition has never been great.
Has anyone had this this early and had a successful pregnancy?
Please? Anyone?
I'm not ready to deliver, or lose this much wanted baby. If anything awful happens they will fly me out of this little town to Canberra or Melbourne where I have no support at all....
I suppose the Big Plus (not that there is really a plus to something like this) is that they know about it now and you're at hospital and if it gets worse and Bubs needs to be born, they can do it immediately, which is a better outcome for the little one than if you were at home and it happened kwim?
Ahhhh OK, now i"m with you - I thought you must still have been in hospital (from reading your other thread). Do you have anyone to help out with Darcy while you're on bedrest?
kim ~ i haven't got any wonderful words of wisdom but i am wishing you the speediest of speedy recovery's and hope little one stays put for a long while yet
Wishing you all the best Kim.
I had this happen to me when I was 16 weeks with this bubba & it healed up nicely, as scary as it all is seeing all that blood, it can have a positive outcome.
Just wanted to share that my X-SIL had partial placenta abruption at about 28wks and was admitted to hosy on bedrest for wks. A very scary time for my Brother and family etc. They now have a happy and healthy DD so their outcome was as good as it could have been. She did end up delivering early but how early i dont remember as they live in a diff country. I hope things go well for you and your family. I will be thinking of you over the next few days/weeks etc.
Take Care of yourself and make sure you do REST it is easier said than done.
Hoody
good luck kim...i can only imagine what your going through and i pray everythings ok...i was born at 24 weeks just so you know that if bubba is born early it can be ok. take care rach xxxx
Got readmitted with more bleeding not long after my last post so as you can imagine, had rather a sleepless night.
Got in for an emergency scan this morning and the Head Doctor did the scan for me. He got rather cross that the doctor had put me through so much stress when he would have gladly come in on Sunday night to ease the stress.
Turns out baby is fine...no bleeds any where near the placenta. No bleeds from bubba and my cervix is nicely closed.
They have termed it a 'silent bleed', and tell me it will probably happen again and again. And, each time it happens I'm to go back to hospital and have yet another scan.
On the upside they found a huge blockage in my right kidney (at least i have an explanation for the pain there), so I'm to have monthly scans anyway.....
