I have had ++protein in my urine for a wee while and they have asked me to do a 24 collection to get it tested.. my BP is fine they say its good every time.
can anyone tell me what high protein could mean.. they never said anything to me so i am trying to work out what it all means.
I freaked out at the hospy when they said I had trace amts of protein...but it turns out protein can *sometimes* be in there for other reasons - vaginal secretions get mixed in, or if you have a low level kidney/ureter infection. However, they still have to check it as it's one of the major indicators of pre-eclampsia and it's so much better to be safe than sorry.

protein I think is usually something that can be associated with kidney damage which is a reason why they would have been watching ur blood pressure - they always told me think blood pressure think kidneys at uni. It might just be as much as an infection hopefully everything will be ok.
Hi I had High BP and protein in my urine 3 days before I gave birth. I did teh 24 hour urine test... adn it came back fine. My BP was also only up for 24 hours.
I usually had trace protein in my urine at my ANC appointments... as long as u don't have any other syptoms like High BP, swelling etc, then I'm sure u'll be fine.
Enjoy that 24 hour test... lol It's not vey fun. hehe
