Exposure to human Parvovirus or 5th disease and pregnancy
My dd 4.5 has fifth disease, which is a viral infection caused by parvovirus and produces a high fever and a red face that turns into a Lacey rash on the body. It is a common childhood illness but can cause complications in a small number of pg women if contracted in first half of pg. I am 14 weeks pg and my dad (a dr) has assured me I likely have immunity already. But I am thinking I should prob check for immunity via a blood test. I hate dr google, so can anyone share anymore info or experiences?
