    Should I worry?

I was exposed to a gas leak at school today. I was showing year 8's how to use the bunsen burner and I noticed a smell of gas. Not unusual as we were using the gas taps. However shortly afterwards I started feeling very dizzy and light headed. I called for another teacher to take my class as I just thought I was having another low blood pressure day. I lay down in the staffroom in the cool, had some water and biscuits. However when I went back into the class the releiving teacher told me they had found a leak. Thus I would have been exposed to a gas leak for about 10 mins.

I have felt fine this afternoon, just normal tiredness. Should I call the Dr or midwife? I see them tomorrow anyway... or is it more urgent?

    Thanks for any help

(feel free to move if this is in the wrong place)

    Hi Ratha
That must have been very scary for you.
But there is no need to worry. The gas would only have affected your baby if you had been exposed to the gas at a higher concentration. In fact you would have had to been unconscious before your baby became adversely affected.

Thanks guys. Had a midwife appointment today and hear little rosie's heartbeat, nice and strong so she seems to be all ok. Also got lots of kicks last night so she seems to not be affected at all!

    Thanks for your reassurance.
