    Varicose veins in labia? Advice

Major boohoo and TMI but I was hoping someone could give me some advice on managing comfort of Varicose veins in the labia. I've suspected I had a large one for the last 2months but its recently became extremely obvious to myself and causing alot of discomfort. If I stand or walk for long it gets even larger and the pressure down there is extreme. Just wondering what others have done in this position? My next Drs appointment isn't until late January and I doubt very much he can do anything about it anyway.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I was advised to your pregnancy support tights, although they didn't really help. Ice was the best. Try filling a condom with half water/half vodka. Tie it and stick it in the freezer. This will not freeze solid due to the vodka and you can stick it in your undies (like an icy pop pad ) which should provide some relief.

I saw this thread a while back and thought, "ooh-er. That sounds horrible. And how would you be able to tell?"

Well, I've been getting... 'chafing' with my regular bikini style knickers - just very top of thighs (have been wearing M's boxers instead!) and feel very swollen down there, so I got the mirror down from the laundry and had a look and

    GOOD GRIEF! It's awful!

I've also got slight SPD which is niggling more than it was, and now these bulging veins! Eeek! So I'm guessing by the thread that Beatrix linked to it's a matter of rest and more rest - I'll try the condom thing and I've got a midwife appt in about 10 days so I'll chat to her then. The last time I was at the FBC they recommended the physio, I might go this week if I can get there to see what they recommend.

Seriously, you guys. This pregnancy. M doesn't believe it's the last one, but it's The Last One.
