I'm going for a fetal echo scan on Thursday, mainly as we are now high risk for Down Syndrome amongst other chromosomal disorders, and they want to check the heart is ok or not.
Anyone know how long typically they may take? And do I need to drink a certain amount of fluid before hand like with the morphology scans or not? Dr didn't mention any details.
Yes I had one when I was pregnant with my twins. I can't remember how long it took, but it was like any other normal scan except the paediactric cardiologist focussed on the babies hearts. I hope your baby is ok
ETA: Not sure how much help I actually was, but I just wanted to wish you luck xx
Yes, we were high risk for heart defects due to a high nuchal reading early in the pregnancy. I think I had it at 24 weeks. It was just like any other ultrasound but focused mostly on the heart.
Had the scan, and the heart is looking good! Cardiologist was happy with it so a yay finally. Doesn't rule out a chromosomal thing, but its one less thing to worry about so I'm happy with that.
