Hello,
Following a few worries I had earlier this week, the Doc sent me for an ultrasound yesterday to check everything is okay. During the ultrasound I had a minor scare when the ultrasound technician left the room to go and get a Doctor to 'have a look'. I was told there is a flow of fluid between the placenta and the uterus called a Venous Lake, I was told it was nothing to worry about but that it is slightly unusual. The Doctor called me today after checking the report and told me I will need to go back in 5 to 6 weeks time to have another ultrasound to check that the Venous Lake hasn't changed. Apparently when they are around the placenta there is a concern that the placenta could bleed.
Does anyone else have experience with this and is it something that I should be concerned about or should I just assume it is a normal thing?
The reason I had to have an ultrasound at 25 weeks is that I was having frequent braxton hicks and slight spotting for a day.
