Worried after Dr visit... he thinks shingles... I don't!

On Saturday I woke up with a patch of spots on my sternam and two smaller ones on my back. To me they look like crazy hormonal pimples... Not itchy at all but a tender. Went to the Dr today to get 12 week referral. He thinks shingles, but didn't swab, bt or anything just said if it gets worse to come back in. I don't think it is shingles at all..... I haven't been unwell (apart from MS) and no temperature at the Dr's. Should I be worried? Dr google says shingles is ok in PG as long as you have had chicken pox, which I did as a child. I honestly, wish he had been a little more reassuring..... I am trying not to worry cause there is no point etc.. but of course I am!
    Any advice welcome xx

I had shingles while pregnant (and I'd had them twice before). Also not itchy just a bit sore. They were no hassle and easily covered with clothing so not accessible to my other child. They went away on their own and had no effect in my pregnancy.

My GP told me I had shingles years ago as I went in with a really sore back and he found a rash when he looked. He had to phone to get authorisation for some special meds (so got me worrying that it was serious stuff) but by the time I'd waited ages, spent heaps at the chemist and gone home, the rash was gone - turns out it was a bit red from the heat pack I'd had there, lol! I changed GP's after that....

So yes, he could have it wrong. I wouldn't be worried if you have no other symptoms.

I wasn't preg at the time, by the way.

I have had shingles. At first I noticed the spotty like rash in a patch so I went to the doctors and they thought I had an allergic reaction to a spider bite. It wasn't itchy just looked agro. It wasn't until a few days later the aching started and I went back to my normal doctor who diagnosed shingles.
I was better after a couple of weeks but try and build your immunity.

Also You can't actually get singles unless you have had chicken pox. To put it simply, The chicken pox virus lays dormant in the spine and can come back out as shingles if you are run down and have a low immune system.

Hope you are better soon x

I had shingles on my face while pregnant. Was ok for a couple of days, then my eyes started to swell and it started to hurt. Wasn't fun at all but didn't take too long to feel better.

Hope you feel better soon and can get lots of rest!

Back when I was at school I had shingles it started on my stomach and at first looked like bite marks and was a little sore. After a few days it spread and the pain intensified. I would describe it at first as a slight stabbing pain but it changed to what felt like slapping a really bad sunburn. It hurt so if its
    Shingles you will soon know

Thanks for asking... All fine here. I think from others experiences its safe to say it wasn't shingles. I never really got sick like that. Just one day of complete exhaustion- I've been overdoing it anyway. My ms has been awful which hasn't helped but I'm 11 weeks today so really hoping for relief soon!!! xx
