a question about allergies/sensitivities

what are the chances of passing an allergy/sensitivity from mum to bub? i have a known sensitivity to erythromycin, so would be conscious of medications, but i also have an allergy to one of the preservatives used in easter eggs (either that, or the really compounded sugars - never had it confirmed) and something in herbal teas gives me migraines

now the reason i'm asking is i'm pretty sure the sensitivity related to the herbal tea is rosehips as it's the only common ingredient in all of them. i've just been looking at some organic baby care stuff, and one of the ingredients listed is rosehips - would you think my sensitivity would be transferred to the bub, and would it be smart to avoid these kinds of products just in case?

It's hard to say - I get hayfever and was told that any children MAY get it (because MAY is really definitive isn't it LOL) but I suppose you could counter any chance of them getting it if your DH doesn't have any kwim?

have you checked out the organic baby range from MiEssence? Or is that what you've looked at?

i was looking at natural instinct (has rosehips in everything) and gaia (doesn't have a full list of ingredients - just main stuff iykwim?). i'm trying to work out what will be best early on as mum is talking about doing up a big gift basket of cleaning stuff like she did for SIL, and i'd prefer to say "ok, this stuff is fine, this stuff is a no go" - her heart is in the right place, but she wouldn't take stuff like skin sensitivity into account because she'd go with what is popular as opposed to what is right for us. she does know i have skin sensitivities though, so asked about this a while back. she's even heard of moogoo!
